Luxury Riad, Marrakech, Pool, Free Airport Shuttle, Dar Bassidi Overview
You know, I’ve stayed at a lot of riads in Marrakech over the years, but Dar Bassidi honestly caught me off guard – and I mean that in the best way possible. When the free airport shuttle dropped me off in the Quaria Siyahia area, I wasn’t sure what to expect since it’s sort of tucked away from the main tourist chaos (which, let’s be honest, is actually a blessing). The entrance is pretty unassuming – just a traditional wooden door that gives no hint of what’s waiting inside. But step through that doorway and wow, you’re hit with this incredible sense of calm that’s hard to find in Marrakech.
The riad itself is beautifully restored without feeling too precious about it, if that makes sense. The central courtyard has this gorgeous pool that’s actually swimmable – not one of those tiny decorative things you see in some places. I spent most mornings floating around before the heat kicked in, listening to the call to prayer drift over the walls and watching the light change on the Atlas Mountains in the distance. The rooms are spacious with proper air conditioning (thank god), and the beds are genuinely comfortable, not just Instagram-pretty. What really impressed me was the attention to detail – fresh mint tea when you arrive, towels that don’t feel like sandpaper, and bathrooms where everything actually works. The staff knows their stuff too; they arranged a fantastic day trip to the Ourika Valley that I never would have found on my own, and they’re great about restaurant recommendations beyond the obvious tourist spots.
Here’s the thing about location – you’re about a 15-minute walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa if you want the full medina experience, but far enough away that you can actually sleep at night without drum circles keeping you awake. The neighborhood feels authentic without being sketchy, and there’s this little bakery around the corner where locals queue up for bread every morning. I mean, you’ll still need to navigate some narrow streets to get here, but that’s part of the Marrakech experience, right? The free airport transfer is clutch too – saves you from haggling with taxi drivers when you’re jet-lagged and just want to collapse somewhere beautiful. With a 9.8 rating, I was expecting it to be good, but honestly? It exceeded even those high expectations. This is the kind of place that makes you understand why people fall in love with Morocco.

Exceptional – Lucas from Portugal – 16 May 2025 (10/10)
Bref séjour magique ! – Laurie from Belgium – 1 May 2025 (10/10)

– Gines from Spain – 19 April 2025 (10/10)
What could be improved: NadaAmazing and looking forward to coming too see Simo! – Oisin from Ireland – 15 April 2025 (10/10)
The riad is amazing. It’s very modern, got a lovely colorful interior and can accommodate for a lot of people. There was only 2 of us but enjoyed having the space. The balcony is gorgeous, it’s got a nice view and also great for relaxing on. Its location is a little out but nice if you’re up for a small walk in. If not, Simo offered us a lift at any point and was extremely flexible to pick us up from anywhere at really any time. Simo made our trip seamless and ensured we were had everything we needed. He really went the extra mile the whole trip, can’t express enough how much of a legend he is. Thank you so much!
What could be improved: Nothing at all.Beautiful house to stay at with your friends or family. – Oumaima from Germany – 10 April 2025 (9/10)
Had an amazing stay at Dar Bassidi! The house itself is gorgeous, really well-designed, and had everything I needed. Plus, it was super clean, which I really appreciated. I highly recommend it! Also, I liked the fact that they offer airport shuttle because I didn’t have to worry about finding a taxi. The host was super nice and welcoming too and evengifted us some soap and souvenirs.
