Maison Jannate Louise Overview
First Impressions
You know what hits you first about Maison Jannate Louise? It’s this sense of discovering something genuinely special that most tourists never find. Tucked away on the route d’Ourika in the Tassoultante area, this place feels like a well-kept secret — honestly, I almost didn’t want to write about it because I liked having it to myself. The property has this authentic Moroccan charm that you just can’t manufacture, and the moment you pull through the gates (thank goodness for that free parking, by the way), you realize you’ve stumbled onto something different from the typical Marrakech hotel experience.
Location & Surroundings
Here’s the thing about staying out in Tassoultante — you’re actually getting the best of both worlds. Sure, you’re about 20 minutes from the chaos of the medina, but that distance is exactly what makes this spot so appealing. The route d’Ourika is famous for leading to some spectacular Atlas Mountain scenery, and I mean, couples absolutely love it here for good reason. There’s something romantic about being surrounded by olive groves and having those mountain views as your backdrop. You can still do your Marrakech sightseeing during the day, then come back to this peaceful retreat where you can actually hear yourself think.
The Accommodation Experience
The rooms at Maison Jannate Louise have this wonderful lived-in elegance — not stuffy or overly formal, just comfortable in that effortless way that takes real skill to pull off. I appreciated the attention to traditional Moroccan design elements without feeling like I was staying in a theme park version of Morocco. The bathrooms are well-appointed, and honestly, after a day of exploring dusty souks, having a proper shower with good water pressure feels like pure heaven. What really impressed me was how quiet everything stays — you can leave your windows open at night and fall asleep to actual silence, which is pretty much impossible in central Marrakech.
Breakfast & Practical Matters
The continental breakfast here is one of those pleasant surprises that sets the tone for your whole day. They serve it in this lovely courtyard area where you can actually enjoy your coffee without dodging scooters or street vendors — I mean, I love the energy of Marrakech, but sometimes you just want to eat your croissant in peace. The staff clearly takes pride in the presentation, and they’re genuinely helpful with recommendations for day trips or restaurant suggestions. Having that private parking on-site is honestly a game-changer if you’re planning to rent a car and explore the Ourika Valley or head up into the Atlas Mountains.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back to Maison Jannate Louise is this perfect balance of accessibility and tranquility. You’re close enough to Marrakech to satisfy your cultural curiosity, but far enough away to actually relax and recharge. The property has this authentic feel that you can’t fake — it’s clearly been thoughtfully developed by people who understand what travelers actually want. Couples especially seem to gravitate toward the romantic atmosphere and the fact that you can have genuine conversations here without shouting over traffic noise. It’s the kind of place where you end up extending your stay just because leaving feels premature.

What could be improved: N/AAn oasis of luxury SE of the airport – Andy from United Kingdom – 14 April 2025 (8/10)
We spent our first night in Morocco here. The drive from the airport was stressful at times, but we relaxed as soon as we arrived, being greeted with some tea and sweets. Breakfast plus a dip in the pool in the morning was a great start to our day – a long drive south.
Exceptional – Theresa from Germany – 8 April 2025 (10/10)
We loved the pool and the nice team!
Amazing with a splash of calmness – Komolafe from Nigeria – 29 March 2025 (8/10)
It was always clean and the outdoor was serene and homely
What could be improved: The distance from the city centreVery upset about my experience with this villa. – Alla from Finland – 21 March 2025 (4/10)
Nora is very lovely person and cooking very delicious. Working hard on cleaning and taking care about the place.
What could be improved: This villa does not match the photos. The furniture, paths in the garden, sun loungers, sofas and other things are already very worn out. There was constant construction of the garden and there is a construction site nearby. Also, noisy machines were used by garden workers. I was not provided with a cot, which was in the description, or a high chair. This caused us great inconvenience and stress. The first night I had to sleep with a one-year-old child in the same bed. Then I had to wait for two days for a high chair and it was impossible to feed the child. The workers did not speak English, which caused a lot of inconvenience. All the roads in the garden are broken or unpaved. I could not walk everywhere with my child, as there was very dirty uncultivated soil. In the villa itself, the sofas are old, and there are also cigarette burns on them. On the day of arrival, the house was very hot and smelled burnt, so it was difficult to breathe. There were also constant problems with taxis. I asked for a child seat in the taxi, but they were very irresponsible and sent a taxi several times without a child seat. On the last day, I was also cheated out of 30 euros and charged an extra fee for the taxi. Including the amount was debited from my card with a very high commission.Very good except for expensive fare going to the medina. – Rocelyn from United Kingdom – 6 March 2025 (9/10)
The property itself is superb, beautiful and peaceful and quiet .
What could be improved: Just the distance from the city centre and the cost of taxi just to go to the medina which is expensive for me as it cost 30 euro or 300 in Moroccan money return. However, if you have a car and driving I will recommend this place as the ambience is really beautiful!Very good – Sbiai from France – 17 February 2025 (8/10)
The house interior design, breakfast and staff
What could be improved: Water wasn't hot enough for a shower, noise from AC etSuperb – Chandramouli from India – 16 February 2025 (9/10)
The staff were very good. They were very helpful and took care of all our needs.
Best place to stay just outside the city limit. – Omer from United States – 26 January 2025 (10/10)
Beautiful place! Especially If you have a car this is the best place to stay at a very reasonable price. The staff and the owner are excellent at paying attention to all reasonable requests. It is located out of the city so it's nice and quiet. Just some occasional dog barking at night but nothing bothersome. Very clean and well kept. We definitely found our favorite place to stay when visiting Marrakech.
