The moment I stepped inside, everything clicked. This isn’t some sterile hotel room where you’re afraid to touch anything – it’s actually set up like a real home where a family could spread out and, well, live. The living space flows naturally, and there’s this warm, lived-in feeling that you just can’t fake. What really sold me was the kitchen situation – I mean, it’s properly equipped, not just some sad little kitchenette with a broken coffee maker. We ended up cooking breakfast most mornings because the local market on Avenue Mohammed V is literally a five-minute walk away. The owner clearly gets that families need space to do normal things like store groceries and have the kids eat cereal without cramming around a tiny hotel table.

Being in Gueliz is actually perfect if you want to experience modern Marrakech without completely diving into the medina chaos (though honestly, you should do that too). The neighborhood has this relaxed vibe during the day – you’ll hear the call to prayer mixing with normal city sounds, but it’s not overwhelming. Evenings get pretty quiet, which was great for us since we had early morning plans. The apartment faces away from the main street noise, so you can actually sleep with the windows open when it cools down. I loved that we could walk to proper restaurants – there’s this little place around the corner that serves incredible tagines, and the staff there started recognizing us by day three. You’re also close enough to grab a taxi to Jemaa el-Fnaa without paying tourist prices, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with constant hassle from vendors. Parking was surprisingly easy too – something I definitely wasn’t expecting in Marrakech. The whole setup just works, you know? It’s one of those places where you can picture yourself coming back.
