Look, I’ve stayed in my fair share of places in Marrakech, and honestly, the Marrakech Getaway caught me completely off guard. When I first saw the address on Rue Zellaqa – tucked away in this residential building in Gueliz – I’ll admit I was skeptical. I mean, apartment 15 in Residence Hafsa doesn’t exactly scream “luxury hotel,” you know? But walking into that space, it’s like someone took the best parts of a boutique hotel and mixed it with the comfort of staying at a really well-designed friend’s place.

The thing about Gueliz is that it’s where actual Moroccans live and work, not just the tourist circus of the medina (though don’t get me wrong, the medina’s incredible). You’re genuinely in a neighborhood here – there’s this little café downstairs where the owner, Hassan, makes the most ridiculous mint tea, and honestly, half the morning regulars became my unofficial tour guides. The 9.6 rating makes total sense once you realize this isn’t trying to be some generic international hotel. It’s thoughtfully designed, probably by someone who actually understands what travelers need versus what hotels think they need. The apartment setup means you’ve got space to spread out, a proper kitchen if you want to grab groceries from the Carrefour that’s maybe a ten-minute walk away, and – this is key – it’s quiet. Like, properly quiet. No tour groups clomping around at 6 AM, no poolside music until midnight.

What really sold me was the attention to detail that you only notice after a few days. The shower pressure is actually decent (if you’ve been to Morocco, you know this isn’t a given), the Wi-Fi works throughout the space, and there’s this little balcony that catches the afternoon light perfectly. The host clearly knows the area – they left these handwritten notes about which taxi drivers to call, where to get the best tagine that isn’t a tourist trap, stuff like that. You’re close enough to walk to the medina when you want that intensity, but you can also just wander around Gueliz like a normal person, grab coffee at a sidewalk café, people-watch without being constantly approached by vendors. I ended up extending my stay twice because, honestly, it just felt right. Sometimes you find a place that gets the balance perfect – authentic enough to feel like you’re actually in Morocco, comfortable enough that you’re not roughing it, and personal enough that you’re not just another booking number.

  Eski şehre gayet yakın, yeni mimari bir binada gayet güzel bir daire. Ufak tefek eksikler dışında gayet konforlu. Bazı eskiyen mutfak eşyası yenilenirse, banyolara şampuan ve sabun koyma yeri yapılırsa 10 puan bir yer olur. Temizliğe daha özen gösterilmeye ihtiyacı var , özellikle balkonlarda.

  Wir haben eine Nacht zu zweit in diesem Apartment verbracht und waren rundum zufrieden. Es war absolut sauber, alles hat reibungslos funktioniert, und der Kontakt mit dem Host über WhatsApp war super freundlich und hilfsbereit.
  
  Das Apartment ist wirklich groß und bietet alles, was man auch für einen längeren Aufenthalt mit mehreren Personen benötigt. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und können es definitiv weiterempfehlen!

  Apartament molt recomanable per a 4 persones, a 15 min caminant de la plaça Jemaa el-Fnaa, perfecte per dormir i descansar fora del bullici de la Medina.
  Net, confortable i amb tot el necessari per passar uns dies a Marrakech.
