Look, I’ve stayed in my fair share of Marrakech accommodations, and Marrakech Golf City Prestigia honestly surprised me in the best way possible. The name makes it sound like some sterile resort complex, but it’s actually this lovely residential setup in Agdal that feels more like borrowing a friend’s really nice apartment than staying in a typical hotel.

The location is pretty genius if you ask me – you’re on Avenue Guemassa, which locals know as one of those wider, tree-lined streets that doesn’t get the crazy medina traffic but still keeps you connected to everything. Four minutes to the center isn’t marketing speak either; I actually timed it walking to Jemaa el-Fnaa and it was spot on. What I really appreciated was being in the Prestigia residence complex – there’s something reassuring about those security gates and the fact that you’re staying where actual Marrakchis live, not in some tourist bubble. The Agdal neighborhood has this nice energy too, sort of upscale but not pretentious, with decent cafés nearby and that massive Carrefour if you need to grab supplies.

The apartment itself (number 11 in the Opale building, which sounds fancy but is really just practical wayfinding) felt properly lived-in rather than hotel-sterile. You know what I mean – the kind of place where the WiFi actually works because someone cares about it, not because it’s the cheapest package the management company could find. The kitchen was functional enough that I made coffee every morning instead of hunting for overpriced tourist café au lait, and honestly, sitting on that little balcony with a proper cup while watching the neighborhood wake up became my favorite part of each day. The sounds are different in Agdal – less call-to-prayer echo than the medina, more residential hum with kids heading to school and the occasional motorbike.

I stayed during shoulder season in March, and the place had this perfect quiet-but-not-isolated vibe. The building’s well-maintained – you can tell because the elevator actually works smoothly and the hallways don’t smell like old cigarettes or cooking oil. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that hovering-over-your-shoulder-while-you-unpack energy you get at some places. The host clearly knows their stuff about the city; they mentioned which hammams the locals actually use (not the tourist traps) and where to catch the best sunset views without fighting crowds.

What really sold me was the practical stuff that travel sites never mention – there’s decent water pressure, the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a helicopter, and you can actually open windows for fresh air when the evening cools down. The bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t spend the first night adjusting to weird lumps or too-soft pillows. Plus, having a proper fridge and some counter space meant I could store those amazing olives from the Agdal market without them going bad in the heat.

It’s the kind of place I’d book again without hesitation, which honestly doesn’t happen often in Marrakech. Sometimes the best accommodation is the one that just gets out of your way and lets you enjoy the city – and this place nails that balance perfectly.

  Nous avons passé un séjour parfait dans l’appartement d’Antonio, idéalement situé à quelques minutes en taxi de la médina. L’appartement est parfaitement agencé et équipé pour une famille avec 2 enfants en bas âge comme la nôtre (mixeur, presse-oranges, fer à repasser, sèche cheveux, lave-linge…). Il ne manque rien ! La vue sur la piscine est très agréable également. Enfin, Antonio a su se montrer très arrangeant, nous permettant de louer une nuit de plus lorsque notre vol a été décalé au lendemain. Merci encore à lui 🙏🏻 Nous recommandons les yeux fermés et nous reviendrons !
