Medina Loft & Spa Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Medina Loft & Spa? The name made me expect some converted warehouse situation, but this place is actually tucked into the El Ghoul quarter in a way that feels authentically Marrakech while still being, well, a proper hotel. I mean, you’re still in the medina – you’ll hear the call to prayer and catch whiffs of tagines cooking nearby – but you’re not dealing with those impossibly narrow alleys where taxis can’t reach and you’re dragging your suitcase over ancient stones for twenty minutes.
The spa part isn’t just marketing fluff either. They’ve got this hammam that honestly rivals some of the fancy places in Gueliz, and the treatment rooms have this perfect temperature thing going on (crucial when you’re dealing with Marrakech heat, trust me). What I really appreciated was how they handle the whole traditional-meets-modern thing without it feeling forced. The lofts – and they actually are loft-style with these great high ceilings – have AC that works properly, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many riads skimp on this. The design keeps those gorgeous Moroccan touches, the zellige tiles and carved wood details, but your shower has proper water pressure and your bed isn’t some rock-hard mattress disguised with pretty textiles.
Staff-wise, they get the balance right between being helpful and not hovering. Check-in was smooth, they knew about restaurant reservations and taxi timing, and honestly the concierge seemed to actually know the city rather than just reading from a script. The location works really well if you want to explore the souks on foot – you’re maybe a fifteen-minute walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa, close enough to duck back for a midday break but far enough that you’re not dealing with the constant noise and chaos. Parking’s handled through them, which saves you from that particular Marrakech nightmare. I’d say the 8.5 rating feels about right – it’s a solid choice that delivers on what it promises without any major surprises, good or bad. The price point makes sense for what you get, especially considering you’re getting that spa access and the location convenience. If you’re looking for something that feels authentically Moroccan but won’t leave you writing reviews about cold showers or mysterious stains, this place hits that sweet spot.

Staff were very attentive, the apartments were a great size for 4 people, the breakfast was also yummy
What could be improved: Don’t order taxis with reception as there taxi drivers are extremely slow on pick up, use the app roby insteadfunny location – Jacky from United Kingdom – 4 January 2023 (8/10)
spacious room, friendly staffs.
What could be improved: with cooker and some tableware but no pans or pots for cooking.
the boiler uses tanked water, and takes long time to reheat. we run out of hot water on the first night.
one of the hairdryers was broken.
smell of refurbishing.
funny location that some drivers couldn’t even find it.Very good – Jeremy from Norway – 22 December 2022 (8/10)
Nice friendly and helpful staff.
What could be improved: The apartment was fine and clean but needed some snagging. Several light bulbs needed replacing, the shower head would not hang up, and some doors were hard to close. Some noise in the daytime from the pool pump above our top floor apartment.Very good – Zahid from United Kingdom – 19 December 2022 (8/10)
the property was very clean, the staff were brilliant and nice made me feel welcome I would be defo going back to stay there again

The staff were incredibly welcoming excellent customer services from Noor, Shema, Ayub and Mohammed. Any issues were rectified instantly rooftop terrace and restaurant is fantastic quality fresh and value for money. Hotel also arranged great excursions with reputable professional providers.
What could be improved: some areas can be more modernised as with ay business always room for improvementsBeautiful, cosy, comfortable, very clean and ideal for long stays. Very professional and friendly staff and services. – Kashif from Ireland – 3 September 2022 (10/10)
We stayed in this beautiful 5 star hotel for 6 nights and it was the best decision for our trip.
The hotel is located in the quiet, clean and beautiful El Ghoul area. It comprises of only 13 luxury suites, each named after a flower; ours was Orchidée (French for Orchid). We booked a 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms suite. It had a kitchen with all appliances: dishwasher, oven, fridge, hob and what not. The main bedroom had ensuite bathroom. Both the rooms had a balcony overlooking a lush green vicinity full of palm trees.
The living area was bright and cosy.
The staff was amazing. Ahmed and others on the reception always made sure everything was up to the mark. The housekeeping did a great job keeping the suite tidy everyday.
Now coming to the spa services, I totally totally recommend the Moroccan Hammam and Massage. Lovely ‘Chayma’ did the most amazing job. I had full body massage (500 Dirhams) twice and Hammam (250 Dirhams) with gommage twice during my stay and it was so so relaxing.
The pool was overlooking the military mountains. It was always quite and mostly to ourselves.
The breakfast was simply the best. Freshly squeezed orange juice, hot drinks and eggs of your choice were served daily with crepes, freshly baked cake, pancakes and Moroccan condiments. The lady who served was extremely polite and professional.
The walk to the nearby Menara Mall was 3.1km making it ideal for us.
What could be improved: Adding fresh fruits to the breakfast would add value.Superb – Alam from United Kingdom – 20 August 2022 (9/10)
The property was great for a group of 3 friends. I found difficulties finding a hotel for 3 persons, so we came across this and got a whole apartment and 3 beds with hotel services! The staff here really do look after you, they will be at your service when needed and extremely helpful. Reda, one of the hotels concierge, was exceptional, he went above and beyond for me and my friends during our stay.
The location isn’t the best but it is good. Some taxis find it difficult to get you back to the hotel. Guilez centre is a 4 minute drive.
The breakfast here is really good, you get a selection of items. You will come across the freshest, most refreshing orange juice during this breakfast also.
Room service was great, they really clean the apartment when you’re away, a special shout out to them for organising my messy room 👍🏽
Speak to the hotel front desk for excursions as they will get you a very good deal.
What could be improved: The pool isn’t the greatest so don’t expect to be swimming a lot. It’s perfect for kids and it’s knee height for adults, never the less, the bedside lounges are a good touch, as it’s on the roof, you can catch a nice tan.
There were no spa treatments here which is a shame, I was advised they’re renovating the spa hence why it wasn’t available during my stay.Super friendly staff; amazing breakfast! – Ajaz from Saudi Arabia – 20 July 2022 (10/10)
Clean reasonable sized rooms, modern decor, and super friendly staff all round, from receptionist (Mr Ahmed), cleaners, to the breakfast waiter.
Breakfast on the rooftop was outstanding. Full a la carte menu with excellent table service and a wide variety of delicious breakfast items.
Unbeknown to us, on one occasion, even the owner of the hotel extending warm generosity to us when we were short of 70 MAD to pay the taxi fare!
Location was less than 10 minutes by car to the main train station. Hotel also provided an excellent service to arrange taxis for us to travel to our places of interest.
What could be improved: Local amenities not really within walking distance, although these can be acquired on return from excursions.
