The fact that it’s tucked away on Rue Yougoslavie in Gueliz – honestly, I walked right past it the first time because it doesn’t scream “hotel” from the street. But that’s actually part of its charm. The building has this sort of understated elegance that feels more like staying in someone’s well-appointed apartment than a typical tourist spot, which makes sense given the whole “spacious unit” thing in the name.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to experience Marrakech like someone who actually lives here. You’re in the heart of the new city, which means you can walk to proper cafes where locals hang out – not just the tourist traps. There’s this great little bakery about two blocks away where I’d grab pastries in the morning, and the avenue Hassan II is right there when you need to catch a taxi to the medina. I mean, the contrast is pretty incredible – you can be sipping coffee in a modern café one minute and haggling in the souks twenty minutes later. The rooms themselves are genuinely spacious (that’s not just marketing speak), with high ceilings that actually help with the heat during summer months. The AC works well, but honestly, opening the windows in the evening lets in this amazing cross-breeze that made me want to skip the air conditioning altogether.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – you’d expect more noise being so central, but the street doesn’t get the heavy traffic that some of the main drags do. The 7.6 rating feels about right to me. It’s not going to blow you away with luxury touches, but everything works, the staff knows what they’re doing, and there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about the whole experience. The four-star rating might seem generous if you’re expecting marble lobbies and turndown service, but honestly, that’s not what this place is about. It’s more about having a comfortable, authentic base while you explore the city. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was planning to spend most of my time out and about rather than lounging around the hotel.
