Palais Menzah & SPA Overview

You know what struck me first about Palais Menzah & SPA? It’s actually tucked away on the Route de Fès – which sounds fancy, but honestly, it’s just the road that heads toward the imperial city. The thing is, this positioning is brilliant because you’re close enough to Marrakech’s chaos to dive in whenever you want, but far enough out that you can actually hear yourself think at night.

The property itself feels like someone’s wealthy Moroccan uncle decided to open his family palace to guests – and I mean that in the best possible way. The architecture has that authentic feel without being stuffy about it, you know? Real zellige tilework that’s probably been touched up over the years, but the craftsmanship is still there. The spa (which, let’s be honest, is probably why you’re considering this place) actually lives up to the hype. I’ve been to plenty of hotel spas that feel like afterthoughts, but this one… well, they clearly know what they’re doing with the hammam treatments. The steam room uses that traditional black soap that leaves your skin feeling like silk – though fair warning, if you’re not used to the attendants being quite so thorough, it can be a bit of a shock.

What really won me over was the staff’s approach to service. They’re attentive without hovering, which is harder to pull off than it sounds. The concierge actually knew which days the souks are less crowded (Fridays, if you’re wondering) and could arrange a driver who wouldn’t take you on the scenic route just to bump up the fare. Breakfast runs later than most places too – until about 11, which is perfect when you’ve spent the previous evening wandering the medina until midnight. The pool area gets busy around mid-morning when day-trippers from other hotels show up for spa packages, but early mornings and late afternoons are blissfully quiet.

I mean, it’s not perfect – the WiFi can be spotty in some rooms, and if you’re expecting ultra-modern everything, this might feel a bit traditional for your taste. But that 8.7 rating makes sense when you experience the whole package. The location means you can walk to some excellent local restaurants that tourists staying in the medina never discover, and there’s something to be said for ending your day in a place that feels genuinely Moroccan rather than internationally generic. Plus, the parking situation is actually manageable here, which anyone who’s tried to navigate Marrakech by car will appreciate.

Reviews of Palais Menzah & SPA

  • Exceptional – Adnane from Estonia – 18 May 2025 (10/10)

Lovely place—very quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was good, and the staff were fantastic, especially Mouad, who was incredibly helpful. I definitely recommend this place!

  • Perfect to avoid the crowded hotels in Marrakech – Rob from Netherlands – 29 April 2025 (9/10)

Close to Marrakech, easy to find. Friendly staff, very quiet and relaxed!

  • Lovely staff – Mohamed from United Kingdom – 16 April 2025 (10/10)

Mouaz and the other shift guy were extremely friendly, kind and helpful. Even our little kids loved them. They were also helpful with our special needs son around food at breakfast time.

What could be improved: Nothing I didn't like – but a lot of the reviews are spot on. This is a boutique low-scale hotel, it has only 4-5 rooms, 1-2 staff (during Apr visit, not sure during peak months what the situation is). Expect to do some things hands-on (no vallet, there's only 1 person doing everything etc).
Getting there was a bit tricky on day 1, soon as we knew the right way in, it was very easy.
Food options are limited in the hotel/area, no delivery support in that area so having a car is essential if you have family and need food.

  • |Superb! – Sasiekala from United Kingdom – 9 April 2025 (10/10)

Welcoming friendly hotel and Spa. Receptionist especial thanks for the boys. .Mauad and Hassan are very humble and friendly. They satisfied our needs during our stay. Spacious room and Comfy bed. Room is amazing. swimming pool is clean and easy access. Night time we can relax. Lounge is very comfortable ,quiet too.
Three nights peaceful stayed. |Especially i have to mentioned breakfast. Breakfast is plenty and quality. They making fresh after we arrived dinning table. Lunch also tasty/ We tried moroccon dish. love the breakfast choice. I recommend this place. Our room with terrace is nice view.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Exceptional – James from United Kingdom – 18 March 2025 (10/10)

Amazing hotel and nice to escape the bustling city of Marrakech. Best coffee we’ve had in Morocco. Incredible breakfast, great hospitality. Portion sizes for dinner were plentiful, tasty but could maybe offer something else besides tagine/ couscous.

What could be improved: Be weary of taxis/ indrive taking you here. They requested additional money on both of our trips claiming the distance was further than what they thought.

  • Very relaxing – Quinten from Belgium – 15 March 2025 (9/10)

The property was amazing, very clean, very beautiful

What could be improved: It was a bit difficult to get to. The access road was not well illuminated. The patron told me that this was because the hotel had only been opened very recently, so I trust this will be fixed in the future

  • Superb – Smetana from United States – 5 March 2025 (9/10)

    Mouad was a great host.

  • In short we had a great stay for the value but some things can definitely be improved. – Anais from Switzerland – 2 March 2025 (8/10)

It was such a nice place with a lot of potential. Mohad at the reception made sure that we had everything we needed and was always friendly and smiling.
As it is a small place with only 5 bedrooms, we were lucky to meet another 2 groups of people and had a great time all together. It felt like a family home.

What could be improved: It has only recently open so some things are missing.
The biggest problem for us was how loud it gets because it isn’t insulated well.

  • Exceptional – Stu from United Kingdom – 14 February 2025 (10/10)

Such a beautiful place stunning rooms and lounge areas and staff that make you feel at home , outside the city and in a very quiet area so perfect of you want peace and relaxation in between visits to the hectic but fun marrakech centre , Mouad made me feel extremely welcome helped me out arranging drivers to the city centre and back making sure everything was OK with my stay and I was looked after even when away from the hotel not overpaying for taxis and buying souvenirs etc . Excellent value for money beautiful room comfortable and most amazing views from my rooms balcony of the Atlas mountains 10/10 for the property and staff the famous Arabic hospitality at its best

  • A wonderful quiet hideaway – Patrick from Ireland – 1 January 2025 (10/10)

We loved the quiet relaxed atmosphere. Very welcoming staff and the food was exceptional and authentic.

What could be improved: No dislikes
