Palais Riad Lamrani Overview
You know what surprised me most about Palais Riad Lamrani? It’s tucked away on Rue Sidi El Yamani, which honestly isn’t one of those streets tourists usually stumble across – and that’s exactly why it works so well. I mean, you’re still deep in the medina with all the chaos and energy you came to Marrakech for, but when you step through those heavy wooden doors, it’s like someone hit the mute button on the city. The contrast is pretty incredible, actually.
The whole place feels like someone’s elegant family home that just happens to welcome guests. The traditional courtyard design means everything revolves around this gorgeous central space with intricate tilework – the kind where you catch yourself staring at the geometric patterns way longer than you planned. What I really appreciated though was how they’ve kept the authentic Moroccan architecture without making it feel like a museum. The rooms have that perfect blend of old-world charm and modern comfort, and honestly, the beds are surprisingly good (which isn’t always a given in riads, let’s be real). The rooftop terrace is where you’ll want to spend your evenings – the views over the medina rooftops are spectacular, especially at sunset when the call to prayer echoes across the city.
Here’s what actually matters for your stay: the staff genuinely knows the neighborhood and can point you toward the good stuff locals go to, not just the tourist traps. They’ll tell you which hammam around the corner is worth your time, or where to find the best tagine that doesn’t cost a fortune. The location means you can walk to Jemaa el-Fnaa in about ten minutes, but you’re far enough from the main square that you won’t be dealing with constant noise – though you’ll still hear the lovely sounds of medina life, which is part of the charm. Check-in was smooth, and they actually helped arrange a reliable taxi for our day trips, which saved us from haggling every single time. The 9.1 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Marrakech, but it absolutely nails what a great riad should be: authentic, comfortable, and run by people who care about giving you a real taste of the city.

Reviews of Palais Riad Lamrani
Absolutely fabulous stay, romantic beautiful inner gardens to relax in the chaos of Marrakesh souk. – Mark from Singapore – 29 June 2025 (10/10)
Wow, couldn't ask for a better position in Marrakesh if you like the famous market, it literally in the middle. Its very tastefully decorated inside, the inner garden is amazing, totally peacefully considering the chaos of the market outside. The room was very comfortable, restaurant is also very highly recommended.
What could be improved: Of course being in the middle of the market means access is tricky, taxi drops you off at the inner city wall boundary, so couple of hundred meter hike needed. If its your first day can be overwhelming through the market to get to the entrance, but once you get used to everything plenty of street porters around willing to take you money for the convenience.A perfect place for an authentic riad style stay – Denise from Canada – 25 June 2025 (10/10)
A veritable oasis of calm away from the madness of the souks/medina of Marrakech. Breakfast was served in the lovely gardens by the nicest gentleman. All the staff were warm and welcoming. The pool was refreshing. The decor, the roof terrace. Everything was just amazing.

Relaxing, well looked after, central location, easy to navigate. – Alexia from United Kingdom – 29 May 2025 (10/10)
The Riad was very authentic, it was like a peaceful haven tucked away from the busy Medina. The garden is beautiful and sunsets from the roof terrace were also enjoyable.
What could be improved: I can’t even think of anything I didn’t like about the property.A beautiful hotel in a great location with a lovely team – would recommend. – Ellen from United Kingdom – 23 May 2025 (10/10)
A really beautiful hotel in a fantastic location for exploring the medina. The courtyard is stunning and the staff were extremely kind and attentive. The pool and rooftop area were both lovely and nice places to get some respite after a day exploring the souks. The rooms and communal spaces are beautifully decorated.
What could be improved: Our room had a slight damp smell and evidence of mould on the bathroom ceiling. We alerted the staff and they said it was caused by a historic leak, and the room was due to be repainted. They weren’t able to offer us a new room, but were very apologetic and kindly gave us a complimentary drink and dessert.Perfect quiet escape, in a central Marrakech – as soon as you’re in the Riad everything goes quiet.
