Palais Ronsard Relais & Chateaux Overview

You know what? I’ve stayed at plenty of fancy places in Marrakech, but Palais Ronsard honestly feels like stumbling into someone’s incredibly tasteful private estate – which, let’s be real, it basically is. The thing is, it’s tucked away in the Palmeraie area, about 20 minutes from the medina madness, and that location is actually perfect if you want to experience the real Morocco without the constant hustle of Jemaa el-Fnaa tourists.

The drive there takes you through actual palm groves (not the fake resort kind), and when you pull up, there’s this moment where you’re like “wait, am I at the right place?” because it doesn’t scream hotel from the outside. The staff genuinely remembers your name after one conversation, which sounds small but makes such a difference when you’re jet-lagged and trying to figure out dinner plans. The rooms – well, calling them rooms feels wrong since mine had this massive terrace overlooking the Atlas Mountains that I probably spent more time on than inside. The design walks this perfect line between traditional Moroccan craftsmanship and actually comfortable furniture (you’d be surprised how many riads miss that mark). I mean, the bathroom alone had this gorgeous tadelakt work that you’ll definitely end up photographing.

What really sets this place apart though is how they handle the whole “authentic Morocco” thing without making it feel like dinner theater. The restaurant sources from local farms – you can actually taste the difference in the vegetables – and their tagines aren’t dumbed down for Western palates. Plus, the pool area becomes this amazing social space in the evenings where you’ll end up chatting with interesting travelers over mint tea. The spa is solid too, though honestly, the real magic happens when you book one of their Atlas Mountains excursions. They work with guides who know the Berber villages personally, not just the tourist stops everyone hits.

One heads up though – if you’re the type who needs to walk everywhere, you’ll want to factor in taxi costs since you’re not in walking distance of much besides nature (which is kind of the point, but still). The hotel does provide transfers to the medina, but it’s not constant, so plan accordingly. Also, while the service is genuinely excellent, this isn’t a place where someone’s going to anticipate your every need – it’s more relaxed and personal than that formal luxury hotel vibe. That 9.2 rating makes total sense when you experience how everything just flows naturally here, from the morning pastries that show up warm to your terrace to the way the evening lighting makes the whole property glow. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself extending your stay if you can swing it.

Reviews of Palais Ronsard Relais & Chateaux

  • A Memorable Anniversary Stay – Jorge from United States – 8 July 2025 (10/10)

My wife and I recently celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary at this incredible hotel, and we couldn’t have asked for a more memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional—warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful.

The hotel itself is stunning, with all the amenities you’d expect from a true luxury property. We especially loved the pool area—beautiful, relaxing, and the perfect place to unwind.

What truly made our stay unforgettable, however, was the food. We had the best meal of our lives. The Duck Wellington was simply extraordinary, perfectly executed and full of flavor. And the raspberry pavlova… absolutely divine.

Thank you to the entire team for making our anniversary so special. We will cherish the memories and look forward to returning.

What could be improved: Nothing everything was great

  • Beautiful property but senior staff underperforming – Maggie from United Kingdom – 3 July 2025 (9/10)

Beautifully designed and decorated. Our room was stunning.
The staff were all very smart in uniforms.
The gardens were amazing and staff tended to them constantly
    Immaculately clean hotel.
    Very tranquil.

What could be improved: The hotel is in the middle of nowhere – a shuttle would have been nice
So much attention to detail in the restaurant that the service was slow and missing. On two consecutive mornings, we ordered fruit and yoghurt and it came without a spoon! We had to ask three times to get one! We couldn’t start without!
The junior staff seemed to work hard unlike many of the more senior staff. There was a lot of unnecessary fuss to make it look as though busy!
Some of the decor needs replacing. Most of the lampshades (in the bar, reception and our bedroom) had many missing tassels. This didn’t suit the standard of the hotel.

  • Almost perfect! – Ayokunle from Nigeria – 23 June 2025 (9/10)

Compact, charming and friendly staff. Beautiful interiors and gardens. A true Oasis in the desert.

What could be improved: Trainee barman left to attend to me in the bar for over two hours. He paid no attention to me after the first drink… and had to get help when I asked for the bill.

  • Very good – Talal from Lebanon – 18 June 2025 (8/10)

The hotel is truly an oasis and offers a very serene vibe.

What could be improved: The restaurant and room service options and menus are too limited for a remote hotel. For one thing, a hotel of this caliber should have a room service that serves a 24 hour service menu. In one of the nights, we had to order Mac Donald’s as there was no room service at 1am.

  • My stay was the best I’ve ever had – Ghalia from France – 7 June 2025 (10/10)

    Absolutely everything was perfect

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • I would recommend the hotel any time – Elias from Jordan – 28 May 2025 (10/10)

    A beautiful hotel

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • A must stay oasis in Marrakech – Geetha from United Kingdom – 26 May 2025 (10/10)

Everything- it was absolutely beautiful with private/lush surroundings and rooms beautifully decorated.
The best thing was the staff- they were all so courteous and ready to help but a particular shout out to Samira;Hisham;Mohammad; Islam part of the restaurant and housekeeping as well as Uma and Halim at reception and Julian who made a special effort to cater for a meal for us ( I hope I got their names right)👍 but a serious big thanks to all staff for helping to make this a memorable stay for my daughter and I!

What could be improved: It was a bit away from the Centre so one would have to organise transfers into the city centre but the hotel staff were always willing to help.

  • Superb – Atim from United Kingdom – 21 April 2025 (9/10)

The hotel is stunning, and the staff are amazing, a great place to stay for downtime and recharging. Yousef took care of us and really made our stay even better!

  • Brilliant! – Plesea from Romania – 15 April 2025 (10/10)

I would like to start this feedback with a big thank you and genuine love declaration: it was “love at first sight” with Palais Ronsard during the reservation process but after entering their premisses I can say I fell deeply in love. To be more specific: before I checked in on my first stay I have already booked the next one! I hope this clarifies! 🙂
The design is flawless, the level of attention to details is otherwordly, the service is impeccable and the surrounding nature is beyond my humble expression capability. It is the type of architectural environment where irrelevant how or where you place the camera the shot and the composition will be just perfect.
I don’t know exactly where I should start the “thanking process”, but I would like to start with a big thank you to Karima as she is successfully managing, probably the most beautiful high end resort in the world! 🙂 Great respect to the amazing Rashid from Room Service and Hazma for the impeccable restaurant service. Greetings and thanks to the best receptionist ever Mr. Youssef and nevertheless a big thank you to the kind, well spoken and polite Yassine from the pool restaurant.
Outstanding team. Once again, Not enough words suitable to express the greatness of this team so beautifully integrated in this harmonious blend of art, nature and fine architecture.

And since I am coming from an architectural and photography background I feel the need to write a few more words. The moment you enter the grounds of Palais Ronsard, you are transported and mesmerised into a serene oasis where every single landscape and architectural detail have been thoughtfully curated.
The fact that the Le Jardin d’Hiver was declared the most beautiful restaurant in the world in 2020 by the Prix Versailles is a very natural consequence and matches the on site reality. The palms, the singing birds and every single crafted and curated detail are at the highest expectations and your shall be treated with a symphony of flavours!

What could be improved: There is nothing NOT to like.

  • I love it ❤️❤️❤️ – Nahed from Saudi Arabia – 10 April 2025 (10/10)
