Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name “Palms Edge Villas avec Piscine & Jardin Privés,” I thought it might be one of those places that sounds fancier than it actually is. But driving through the Palmeraie Ouest to get there, past all those dusty palm groves and half-finished construction projects, I started getting genuinely excited. This part of Marrakech feels worlds away from the chaos of the medina, and that’s exactly what you want when you’re looking for a place to actually relax.

The thing that hits you immediately is how quiet it is out here in Douar Belaaguid. I mean, you can still hear the call to prayer echoing from the mosques, but it’s distant and peaceful rather than the intense wall of sound you get in the old city. Each villa really does have its own private pool – and I’m talking proper pools, not those tiny plunge things some places try to pass off. The gardens aren’t manicured to within an inch of their lives either, which I actually loved. There’s something authentic about the way the bougainvillea just sort of sprawls over the walls, and the palm trees provide real shade (you’ll appreciate this when it’s 40 degrees in July). The staff here genuinely seem to care about what they’re doing, though don’t expect lightning-fast service – this is Morocco, after all, and there’s a rhythm to things that you either embrace or fight against.

What really makes this place work is the location. You’re about a 15-minute drive from Jemaa el-Fnaa if you want to dive into the tourist madness, but you’re also perfectly positioned to explore the newer parts of Marrakech that most visitors never see. There’s a decent local market about 10 minutes away where you can grab fresh oranges and mint without paying tourist prices, and honestly, some of my best memories were just sitting by the pool in the late afternoon, watching the Atlas Mountains turn pink in the distance. The 9.3 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be a flashy resort, but everything works properly (the wifi, the hot water, the air conditioning), and there’s something to be said for a place that delivers exactly what it promises. Just make sure you rent a car or arrange transfers ahead of time, because getting taxis out here can be a bit of a hassle, especially late at night.

  This Villa couldn't have been any better, it really is very beautiful. I had such a great time and was treated so well, Isham is a very great host, he even welcomed us with gifts. If you're visiting Marrakesh then you have to book this villa. Pictures don't do enough justice. Solid 10/10

  Amazing throughout the entire place, so clean, pool is perfect and outside area lovely to soak up the sun. We had an amazing time, the cleaners come daily and are absolutely wonderful, breakfast is good, the tv even has sports channels & streaming services! All the staff are brilliant throughout, we will return to Marrakech & stay here again for sure.

  Staff were so friendly and attentive. The property was cleaned everyday. Breakfast served on time and communication via what's app excellent. Fulfilled our requests. We loved it.
  
  What could be improved: Location 15/20 mins from new Marrakech and the square (medina) however this was our personal choice. It may not be suitable if you are looking to move alot. We took private taxi everywhere so for us it was perfect and convenient.

  The owner Ghita was really helpful when my son was not feeling well. She brought medicine for us and also asked if we needed a doctor. This was really kind and showed us their amazing hospitality.
