The apartment sits in Résidence Elite Garden, which is this quiet residential complex that feels worlds away from the tourist chaos, yet you’re still just a 10-minute taxi ride (or 15 minutes by petit taxi if you negotiate well) from all the action.

The building itself – well, it’s modern Morocco, not the riad fantasy you see on Instagram. Fourth floor, no elevator, so pack light or embrace the daily cardio. But once you’re inside apartment 27, the space actually surprised me. The decor walks that fine line between contemporary and Moroccan touches without going overboard on the zellige and berber rugs. What I really appreciated was how functional everything felt – like someone who actually lives in apartments designed this, not a hotel chain. The kitchen’s small but has everything you need if you want to grab groceries from the Carrefour nearby (there’s one about a 5-minute walk away, which locals don’t always mention). The Wi-Fi was solid, which matters if you’re trying to upload photos or work remotely.

Here’s the thing about this area – it’s where actual Marrakechis live. You’ll hear the call to prayer from the neighborhood mosque, kids playing football in the courtyard below, and the bread delivery guy making his rounds in the morning. The soundproofing is decent, though you might catch some street noise if you’re a super light sleeper. I mean, it’s Morocco – there’s always something happening. But honestly, that’s part of the charm. The building’s security is tight, which gave me peace of mind wandering around with camera gear. And the host – they’re responsive on WhatsApp, which is how everyone communicates here anyway. Check-in was smooth, though finding the exact building took a few minutes (the Google Maps pin gets you close, but Elite Garden is bigger than it looks).

What really won me over was the neighborhood feel. There’s this little café downstairs where the owner, Hassan, makes incredible mint tea and knows everyone’s business in the best possible way. The local hammam is a two-minute walk if you want the authentic experience without the tourist markup. And when you do want to hit the medina or Gueliz, taxis are easy to find – just walk to the main road. The 8.5 rating makes sense to me. It’s not luxury, but it’s comfortable, authentic, and priced fairly for what you get. Perfect if you want to experience Marrakech like someone who actually lives here, rather than just passing through.

  L’appartement était incroyablement bien équipé avec tous les détails nécessaires pour un séjour confortable moderne la cuisine était entièrement équipée avec tous les ustensiles de cuisine et tous tout les chambres a était propres est bien organisé on se sentait comme à la maison je recommande vivement cet endroit
