Quarya Assiyahia – Riad CAMILIA- Maison entière avec piscine Overview
Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of riads in Marrakech, and honestly? Most of them are either tourist traps in the medina or sterile places that feel like they’re trying too hard. But Riad Camilia – and yeah, the full name is a mouthful – actually gets it right. It’s tucked away on Route Bab Kachich, which means you’re close enough to the action but far enough out that you won’t hear scooters honking at 6 AM.
The whole place is yours when you book it, which I didn’t realize at first. I mean, having your own riad with a private pool? That’s pretty spectacular, especially when you’re traveling with a group or family. The pool isn’t huge – don’t expect resort-sized – but it’s perfect for cooling off after wandering around the souks all day. And you know what I loved? The courtyard setup is classic Moroccan style, but they’ve kept it comfortable without going overboard on the “authentic” decorations that sometimes feel like a theme park. The tiles are gorgeous, the arches frame everything beautifully, and there’s actually good lighting for evening meals (trust me, this matters more than you think).
What really sold me was how the staff handled everything. Check-in was smooth – no standing around wondering if your room is ready – and they genuinely know the area. When I asked about getting to Jemaa el-Fnaa, they didn’t just say “take a taxi” like most places. They explained the walking route, mentioned which streets get crowded when, and even suggested the best time to visit based on what I wanted to see. The location works perfectly for this, actually. You’re not stuck in the maze of the old medina where every street looks the same, but you can still walk to the main attractions without much hassle. Parking was surprisingly easy too – there’s space nearby, which anyone who’s driven in Marrakech will tell you is worth its weight in gold.
The 4-star rating feels right – it’s polished and comfortable without being fancy for the sake of being fancy. Everything works (the AC, the Wi-Fi, the hot water), the beds are actually comfortable, and the whole place feels clean and well-maintained. I stayed during shoulder season in spring, and it was perfectly quiet at night. Can’t speak to how it is during peak summer or winter holidays, but the thick walls and courtyard design should help with noise either way.
Honestly, if you’re looking for that traditional Moroccan experience but want your own space and don’t want to deal with the chaos of staying right in the medina, this place hits the sweet spot. The 8.9 rating makes sense – it’s not perfect, but it delivers on what it promises without any major surprises. Plus, having that pool after a day of haggling in 100-degree heat? Absolutely worth it.

Reviews of Quarya Assiyahia – Riad CAMILIA- Maison entière avec piscine
One week in Marrakech – Horatiu from Romania – 19 June 2025 (8/10)
The host was wery kind , even thoug she dosent speak english we write to each other and we understood each other wery well . Good locatin 30 min walk from the medina . Location with security . The public pool was good not wery crowded
What could be improved: The view from the roof top was not as I aspected but a goid spot for sun bathing a smol inconvenient was that the aircoditioner in the living dosend work
Over all a god place to stai for the moneyLovely host. Bit of a walk from the centre, but do-able if you're fit. Comfortable big Riad. – Sara from Netherlands – 26 March 2025 (8/10)
Around 25min walk from Jema el Fnaa but we really liked that it was just outside the Medina Wall. The walk to the centre was not very scenic and sometimes a bit chaotic. It's a big beautiful Riad, with a lovely sweet welcoming host. It was a bit hard to communicate sometimes but she was very genuine and patient.
What could be improved: Sometimes there was a bit of a sewer smell, which is I suspect is probably common in many houses there. And unfortunately for us our neighbours were being very loud, renovating their house in the middle of the night and a child crying very often, very loudly. Other than that we liked it a lot. One thing that would make the Riad even nicer, is some chairs on the roof terrace to relax a bit 🙂Excellent – Sami from South Africa – 16 January 2025 (9/10)
clean and pleasent. quiet and private.
Great place to stay! – Diāna from Latvia – 12 November 2024 (10/10)
Very good location next to old city wall. Parking on the street by riad. Very safe and beautiful place. Very clean. 3 bedrooms each with batroom (3 bathrooms). Beautifull terrace with view on the old city. Washing mashine and all things in kithcen. Beautifull and very spacious living room. You can use swimming pool in the common area. Good wiifi.
Family stay for 3 nights – Jacqueline from United Kingdom – 20 August 2024 (8/10)
This was a large riad which was in a complex just outside the medina. The complex had a swimming pool, parking and affordable shops and cafes which was ideal for us travelling as a family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The riad was very spacious, clean and comfortable. It was extremely hot but the air conditioning worked well in all three bedrooms. It was a real novelty that we all had our own bathrooms! The swimming pools were great to cool down in and although busy were not over whelming.
What could be improved: The kitchen was a little short on utensils ie. a colander and corkscrew and when we came back in the evenings there were cockroaches in the living area, kitchen and downstairs toilet. It would have been nice to have seating on the upstairs terrace.decent family stay – Stefan from Switzerland – 7 July 2024 (8/10)
Host was very helpful and nice.
Spacious, if you're less than six people.
What could be improved: You ll need a taxi for most things to reach, though this might also be good, since most rides are enjoyable and inexpensive.
It is ok to walk to the Medina from there, but you need to cross at least one big road and will come by some areas that are not very scenic. One night stay and it was fine. – Jonathan from United Kingdom – 31 May 2024 (8/10)
Huge amount of space, comfy beds. For the money a great space.
What could be improved: Fridge was off when we arrived so could store anything cold. AC in only two of the three rooms…Great place for a short stay in Marrakech – Annie from Belgium – 7 May 2024 (9/10)
Just outside the Medina wall so considering we needed a parking, it was perfect!
Its a small complexe with many riads, parking, pools, shops and restaurants.Good accommodation , perfect for an inexpensive stay in Marrakech . The owner Zahra was helpful and welcoming – Caroline from United Kingdom – 26 March 2024 (8/10)
Lovely traditional Riad, full of character and plenty big enough for a family . It had a fully equipped kitchen and clean bedding and towels . Close by within the residential area (3 minutes walk) there’s a couple of cafes selling food all day and evening and 2 small convenience shops.
My mistake in not seeing a message from the owner Zahra with clear directions to the riad. Using a taxi from the airport we struggled a little to locate riad camilia but if in doubt show the taxi driver the photo on here which Says Qarya syahia !! . Marrakech was fascinating however it’s quite easy to get lost going into the main square and locals often offer help with directions and expect some cash for their help ( which we didn’t always want but they can be quite insistent) . On the whole though an interesting cultural little holiday .
What could be improved: Unfortunately the pool wasn’t open due to it being Ramadan.Very enjoyable stay – Mckelvie – 5 February 2024 (10/10)
It was very clean and plenty of space. The owner was very helpful and friendly.
What could be improved: Perhaps brighter lights in the living room and by the bedside for reading.
