You know what caught me off guard about Résidence Assiyahia? The pool area is actually quiet – and I mean properly quiet, not that fake “peaceful oasis” thing hotels love to claim. When I first pulled up to the building in Qaria Siyahia (which honestly sounds way more exotic than it looks – it’s basically a residential neighborhood), I wasn’t expecting much. The address sounds intimidating, but it’s really just apartment 5 on the second floor, and finding it was easier than I thought it’d be.

The thing is, this place gets the balance right between being a proper residence and having hotel-like perks. The pool isn’t huge, but it’s clean and gets sun most of the day, which matters more than you’d think in Marrakech’s climate. I spent a good chunk of my afternoons there, and it never felt crowded – probably because it’s tucked away from the main tourist drag. The apartment itself feels lived-in rather than sterile, which I actually prefer. The kitchen’s properly equipped (not just for show), and there’s decent storage space, though the bathroom could use better water pressure – but honestly, that’s half of Morocco right there.

What really sold me on this place was how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re not in the middle of the medina chaos, but you’re not stranded in some soulless hotel zone either. There’s a little café about two blocks down that does excellent msemen in the mornings, and the local taxi drivers actually know where this street is (trust me, that’s not always a given). The 8.7 rating makes sense when you consider you’re getting apartment-style space with hotel-level cleanliness, plus that pool situation I mentioned. The owners seem to actually care about maintenance – everything worked when I was there, from the AC to the wifi, which stayed strong even during peak evening hours when everyone’s streaming videos. I mean, it’s not luxury in the marble-and-gold sense, but it’s comfortable in a way that makes you want to stay in rather than just crash between sightseeing marathons. If you’re planning to spend real time in Marrakech rather than just checking boxes off a tourist list, this kind of setup makes way more sense than a traditional hotel room.

  The property was amazing for me and my group of friends. The landlord sorted out our transport from the airport and took us to the property. Even when we needed an extra fan cause the heat was getting to us the landlord came through and got us a new fan the very next day.
  
  What could be improved: Nothing, there was a leak in the toilet, but the landlord sent over a plumber and got it sorted the very same day.

  What could be improved: Both myself and my friend had £200 GBP approx in our bags on arrival to the property – when leaving, we were missing £90 GBP.
  Would not stay here again for that reason, as there is no cleaner during the day, therefore no one should be accessing our flat.

  House is nice and very clean! Abdel is an amazing host, very attentive and helpful.
  Although when you booked the house we thought it was a Terrace type of house with private pool but instead is an appointment complex and besides have share the pool with all neighbours it doesn't open every day and when it does is only from 10-18h .

  The location was a short 10 minute taxi ride (100 dirham or £8) to nearby hotspots and attractions or 40 min walk. The apartment was in a gated complex which made you feel safe and there were a few places to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. My room had a roof terrace which faced the sun all day and 3 sunbeds on it.
  
  What could be improved: The pool area was very narrow and not much space around for seating. The sunbeds were extremely uncomfortable. But having searched before booking for an apartment with a pool near marrakech centre there was really not much choice for the budget i was on. We ended up paying £310 for 5 nights for a 3 bedroom apartment which was fantastic value

  Myself and a group of 4 friends stayed at the property for around 4 days and it was absolutely amazing! We had no problems with the apartment whatsoever and it was in perfect condition. It was very spacious, clean and decorated beautifully. Supplies were provided to us for cleaning and cooking which were of good condition and the beds were very comfortable. There is cafés and hairdressers within the residential area as well as an area to book excursions which we made use of. To walk to the Souks it took around 30-40 mins however a taxi could take you close by in about 10 mins which is ideal as the taxis are relatively cheap. Overall, we had an excellent stay and we couldn’t recommend this apartment any more. We will definitely be booking again once we return to Marrakech!
