Riad 10 Mandarin BOUTIQUE RIAD Overview
Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of riads in Marrakech, and honestly, most of them feel like they’re trying too hard to be Instagram-perfect. But Riad 10 Mandarin? This place actually gets it right. Tucked away on Riad Zitoun Lakdim (which, by the way, is one of the quieter streets in the medina – you’re not going to be kept awake by late-night souk noise), it’s got that authentic riad feel without the stuffiness that comes with some of the more famous spots.
The moment you walk through those heavy wooden doors, you know you’re somewhere special. The central courtyard is stunning, I mean really stunning – traditional zellij tilework that catches the light just right, and the fountain actually works (you’d be surprised how many riads have decorative fountains that don’t). What really impressed me was the attention to detail in the rooms. The staff clearly knows their stuff because everything feels authentic but comfortable – proper Moroccan textiles, carved plaster that looks like it took months to complete, but also modern touches where they actually matter, like reliable wifi and air conditioning that works when you need it. The rooftop terrace is where you’ll want to spend your evenings, honestly. You get these incredible views over the medina rooftops, and if you time it right during sunset, you can see the Atlas Mountains in the distance.
Here’s what you need to know practically speaking – the riad is small enough that the service feels personal (they remembered my name after the first day), but it’s not so tiny that you feel like you’re staying in someone’s house. Getting there can be tricky if you’re not familiar with the medina’s maze-like streets, but they’ll send someone to meet you at the main road if you need it. The location is actually perfect for exploring – you’re about a ten-minute walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa, close enough to dive into the chaos when you want it, but far enough away that you can escape back to peace and quiet. I loved that you could hear the call to prayer from the nearby mosque, but it wasn’t overwhelming. The breakfast (which they serve in the courtyard) is proper Moroccan – fresh bread, local honey, mint tea that’s actually made right, not the tourist version. One small thing that stood out: the bathrooms are spacious, which isn’t always a given in traditional riads. With a 9.6 rating, you know other travelers have had similar experiences, and honestly, I can see why. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special in Marrakech, even though the city has been discovered a thousand times over.

Reviews of Riad 10 Mandarin BOUTIQUE RIAD
Paradise in Marrakech – Yas from United Kingdom – 30 June 2025 (9/10)
-The staff were so lovely, chatty and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble, always greeting us whenever we left/came back from being out!
– The location was incredible, tucked away down a quiet side street, felt very safe and quite literally a 3 minute walk to the main square!
– The decor!!!! Oh my gosh it exceeded our expectations, the advertised photos look great but in real life it's absolutely stunning, the attention to detail was amazing, so beautiful and light when walking in!
– Amazing breakfast included, there was 2 of us and the breakfast was fit for a king! Slightly different everyday, eggs on request, we loved the traditional moroccan pastries and cakes!
– Sun loungers/parasols on the top terrace where you have breakfast, perfectly situated for relaxing if you want to
– The lovely female cleaner tidied our room every day, even if there wasn't much to do (we are tidy people), changed the used towels everyday etc
– Taxi service for 20 euros on arrival arranged through the riad, one of the staff members met us where the taxi dropped us off (no access through the narrow streets), great service
We honestly did not want to leave, it was a tucked away paradise to come back to after the crazy heat and hustle and bustle in the souks!
Thank you so much, we can't wait to visit again soon!
What could be improved: There really wasn't anything we didn't like enough to write about in detail…we loved it so much!
A few things to be aware of if booking;
There are 2 flights of stairs, relatively high ones with no lift so it wouldn't be accessible for those with mobility issues
There is building work ongoing right next door, some bedrooms won't be affected by the noise depending on the location but ours was next to where the workers were so on a few mornings we heard them quite early.
We were aware of this before booking and it didn't bother us as we are early risers but just putting it here to let others know who may have sleeping issues.Amazing riad in the Medina – Lucas from United States – 8 June 2025 (10/10)
Beautifully designed riad, amazing hospitality, one of the best breakfasts I’ve had, strong shower and AC, strong WiFi, nice rooftop, great value!

Fantastic location and the staff are excellent we left some pottery we had bought at the hotel and the hotel staff made every effort to get the piece we had bought to us to our hotel outide the town. 10/10 service! Local breakfast also great!
What could be improved: Nothing!Lovely Riad with fabulous staff, in a very central location. – Jemma from United Kingdom – 26 February 2025 (10/10)
We loved our stay at Riad 10 mandarin. Our daughter was poorly the first few days and the staff really looked after us, they went out of their way to try to help. In general the staff are amazing, so friendly and helpful, can't do enough for you. The Riad is lovely and is in a brilliant location right of the Medina, allowing you to go out and absorb the excitement of Marrakesh, then dip back into the riad quickly if you needed a break. The rooms were stylish and well kept, very clean and the beds were comfy. the roof terrace is lovely and the breakfast was fresh and different everyday with more than we could eat. They made special extra bits for our daughter which was very thoughtful.
What could be improved: The only thing I can comment on was that the room was a little small for three and the pool wasn't warm, but otherwise it really was a fantastic stay. The manager Medi and his team doing a great job good service – Ejah from United States – 7 February 2025 (10/10)
