Riad 4 Jardins & Spa Overview
You know what? I’ve stayed at a lot of riads in Marrakech over the years, and Riad 4 Jardins & Spa honestly feels like stumbling onto someone’s well-kept secret. It’s tucked away on this narrow derb off Rue Bab Doukkala – and I mean really tucked away, the kind of place where you’ll definitely get lost the first time trying to find it even with GPS. But that’s actually part of the charm, because once you duck through that unassuming wooden door, you’re suddenly in this incredibly peaceful oasis that feels a million miles from the chaos of Jemaa el-Fnaa just a few minutes’ walk away.
The whole place is built around these four gorgeous courtyards (hence the name), each one with its own personality. I spent most of my mornings in the main one with the fountain – there’s something about the sound of trickling water mixed with the call to prayer echoing from nearby mosques that just… well, it gets you in the right headspace for Morocco. The rooms are what you’d expect from a proper riad – thick tadelakt walls that keep things cool, beautiful zellige tilework, and these massive wooden doors that make you feel like you’re living in some kind of fairy tale. My room looked out onto one of the smaller courtyards, and honestly, waking up to that view of orange trees and morning light filtering through the leaves beats any hotel alarm clock.
What really sets this place apart though is the staff – they actually know the medina inside and out, not just the tourist spots. When I mentioned I was looking for a good place to buy saffron (the real stuff, not the tourist market nonsense), Ahmed at the front desk gave me directions to this tiny shop near Mouassine that locals actually use. The spa is pretty exceptional too, especially if you can snag an appointment for the hammam in the late afternoon when the light hits the treatment rooms just right. I mean, you’re in Morocco – you might as well do the full experience, right? The only minor thing I’d mention is that the riad can get a bit echo-y when it’s full, but that’s just physics when you’re dealing with these traditional courtyards. During my stay in March it was perfectly quiet, but I imagine peak season might be different. The location puts you right in the heart of the medina without being on one of those crazy busy streets where you can’t sleep because of motorbikes at all hours – you’re close enough to walk to the souks in about ten minutes, but far enough that you can actually hear yourself think.

Exceptional – Przemek from Poland – 6 July 2025 (10/10)
Kindness and cordiality was the first thing we encountered. Then quiet, clean fully equipped rooms. The owner extremely helpful. Delicious breakfasts in beautiful gardens. Hamman in the Riad also met our expectations.
You must stay here if you are in Marrakech – Alison from United Kingdom – 29 June 2025 (10/10)
I cannot rate this riad highly enough. Jamal is an absolute treasure and nothing was too much trouble. We woke up late for breakfast one morning, but he still bought us an incredible spread out in the garden. He was very knowledgeable about the area and was very helpful with suggestions and arranging taxi's.
The riad and the gardens are beautiful. A quiet haven in a good location.
Jamal is one of those beautiful souls that you feel very privileged to meet. If you are in Marrakech, you absolutely need to stay here.
We will be back. Molli & Billie
What could be improved: NothingExceptional – Denis from France – 28 June 2025 (10/10)
We loved our stay in this Riad, especially our mornings and evenings in the garden. Everything is within walking distance, and there's even a parking lot in 5 mins in case you come by car. There are about 6–7 rooms in the Riad, each one different, so please make sure to book the one that suits your needs.
We booked two rooms. The room on the top floor had its own private terrace, was very bright, and had a cupboard. In contrast, the room on the first floor didn’t have a cupboard, was a bit dark, and was located close to the Riad's entrance, so we could always hear when someone came or left during the day.
Overall, it’s a lovely place to spend your holidays in Marrakech. Thank you to the entire team and the owner for the warm hospitality!Fantastic Riad, which I would recommend, Jamal was an incredible host who provided so much help. – John from United Kingdom – 27 June 2025 (10/10)

I had the pleasure of staying 3 nights at Riad Jardin 4, and I can confidently say it was the most homely experience I’ve ever had while traveling.
From the moment I stepped in, I was welcomed like family by Mr. Jamal, the wonderful owner whose warmth, hospitality, and personal touch made me feel completely at ease. He truly treats his guests like his own.
The Riad itself is beautiful, peaceful, and full of charm — a true oasis tucked away from the bustle of the Medina. Every moment spent here was filled with calm and care.
A big heartfelt thank you to Fatima Zahra and Mohammed, who were incredibly kind and attentive. Their generosity and genuine smiles added so much to my stay.
I left with beautiful memories, a full heart, and the promise to return. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic Moroccan hospitality and a place that feels like home. 🌿✨
What could be improved: Wish there could be an Iron board available 😛Very friendly staff – Amelia from United Kingdom – 4 June 2025 (10/10)

Friendly, comfortable and convenient – Suzanne from United States – 3 June 2025 (10/10)
It is beautiful, walking distance to many attractions and the staff is wonderful. There are Moroccan artworks in the rooms and the garden. Everyone greeted me and offered assistance with planning activities and carrying them out. And the breakfast is enormous!
What could be improved: On the first few days I got lost looking for the entrance from the street. But people in the neighborhood were helpful and I soon learned the correct place to turn.
