Riad à Marrakech dans la Résidence Touristique Al Qaria Assiyahia Overview
So I stumbled across this riad in Marrakech – and honestly, it’s not what you’d expect when you hear “Riad à Marrakech dans la Résidence Touristique Al Qaria Assiyahia” (which is quite the mouthful). It’s actually tucked away in this modern residential complex near Bab El Khemis, and you know what? That turned out to be kind of perfect. I mean, you’re getting the authentic Moroccan riad experience but without all the chaos of the medina literally outside your door. The location is interesting – it’s in this planned tourist residence that feels almost like a little village within the city, which some people might find too sanitized, but I actually appreciated having a quiet retreat after spending days getting gloriously lost in the souks.
The riad itself has that classic Moroccan architecture you’re hoping for – gorgeous tiles, that peaceful central courtyard, and those thick walls that keep things surprisingly cool even when it’s blazing outside. What really struck me was how they managed to maintain the traditional feel while clearly having modern infrastructure (the Wi-Fi actually works, the plumbing doesn’t make weird noises). The staff genuinely knows the area well – they pointed me toward this incredible little café about ten minutes away that I never would have found otherwise, and they were spot-on about timing visits to avoid the tourist crowds. The rooms have character without being museum pieces, if that makes sense. You’ll find beautiful traditional details but also things like proper outlets and decent lighting for actually reading at night.
Here’s the thing though – and this is important – you’re not in the heart of the medina action. Some travelers want to step out their door and immediately be in the thick of everything, but this spot requires maybe a 15-minute walk or a short taxi ride to reach places like Jemaa el-Fnaa. I found this distance actually worked in my favor because I could escape back to genuine quiet when the sensory overload got too much. The complex has decent parking too, which is worth its weight in gold if you’re planning to rent a car for day trips to the Atlas Mountains or Essaouira. The 8.2 rating feels about right – it’s solid, reliable, and charming without being flashy or perfect. Sometimes you want a place that just does everything well without trying too hard, and this riad delivers on that front.

Reviews of Riad à Marrakech dans la Résidence Touristique Al Qaria Assiyahia
It was a good choice, worth staying in it. Things could be better with improving small things as mentioned earlier. – Marwa from Ireland – 4 November 2024 (8/10)
It was a big house with good number of bedrooms and bathrooms. Recieved Clean and tidy. Coffee shop was just outside the house that we had our breakfast daily. Grocery and pharmqcy were also nearby. The owner was very approachable and helpful.
What could be improved: I would like to give a humble advise to increase the number of towels as not enough. The shower gel bottels were empty and there was no daily cleaning service.Great location with many amenities. – Lisa from United States – 14 October 2024 (7/10)
The pool was nice. There were many restaurants and services on the property which was very handy. The apartment was very spacious and had lovely traditional decoration. Air conditioning worked good. The multiple bathrooms were perfect for our group in the mornings. The local cats were fun (if you like cats).
What could be improved: There was no communication from the owner so I had no idea if there was going to be someone there to let us in. There was no response to phone, text or email. Someone was there so it was fine but frustrating. He didn’t speak English so it might be tough without someone to help translate. There were 2 rolls of toilet paper for our group of 5 for a 4 night stay. The beds were very firm. There were only 4 towels available and the bed linen needs updating. There were several maintenance items that need fixing (leaky toilet, broken bathroom door handle) but nothing to cause serious trouble.Meget tilfreds også med prisen – Otto from Denmark – 8 October 2024 (9/10)
Beliggenhed, god plads, flinke folk overalt, fine pools.
What could be improved: Der burde have været viskestykker. En af airconnerne var ituSuperb – Rachid from Qatar – 15 August 2024 (9/10)
This is the second time I book this riad; very neat and comfortable.
Lovely private and typical space. Nice area and position – Matteo from United Kingdom – 5 May 2024 (10/10)
The place is perfect for a family stay. Very typical and private. We all loved it. The residential area around is also very beautiful with swimming pool and great local restaurants. The Medina can be reached with 15/20min on foot, so very practical to walk around the city.
What could be improved: It was a bit difficult to find the place once arrived in the area. I suggest to ask the people at the gate or the restaurant if they know the place. People are generally very helpfulSafe and secure place well situated. – Balakumar from United States – 24 January 2024 (8/10)
There was no breakfast included. We did our own arrangements for breakfast. It was a modern riad and the facilities were comfortable. It is pretty close to the airport as well as most city attractions.
What could be improved: We were charged extra for the number of people staying there. But there were not enough towels for all of us to use in the bathrooms. Also our car was not allowed into the campus for security so we had to offload all luggage and carry it in ourselves. The outer lock on the door required some skills to lock and unlock. It was difficult at first but we managed to get the hang of it. We were English speakers but the contact was not so fluent so there was some effort in making our needs understood 😋there were a lot of breakfast cafes but they were not fully open at 8 am so we had to get groceries like bread and milk and finish breakfast ourself. The stay did not include breakfast so that was ok.Riad Marrakech – Jen from France – 2 January 2024 (7/10)
What could be improved: Er lagen aankoopbonnen van de vorige huurders dus niet heel goed schoongemaakt.
Verder een mooie ruime woning en leuk ingerichtExcelente localização, inserido num condomínio com várias facilidades e toda a segurança. – Pedro from Portugal – 4 October 2023 (9/10)
Decoração tradicional com todo o requinte
What could be improved: Roupa de cama por fazerExceptional – Rachid from Qatar – 10 August 2023 (10/10)
