Riad Aicha Marrakech Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first wound my way through those narrow medina alleys to find Riad Aicha, I was starting to wonder if my taxi driver had just dumped me in the middle of nowhere. The address says Boutouil near Bab Ailen, but you know how these old medina streets work – it’s basically a maze until you get your bearings. Then you spot that unassuming wooden door on Yamma Bouzid, and suddenly you’re stepping into this incredible oasis that makes all that wandering around worth it.
What really gets me about this place is how it nails that sweet spot between authentic Moroccan character and actually functioning like a proper hotel. The courtyard – God, the courtyard – has this gorgeous fountain that’s not just for show, and the sound of water trickling actually drowns out most of the medina noise (though honestly, the call to prayer will still wake you up if you’re a light sleeper). The rooms are what you’d expect from a traditional riad, with those thick walls that keep things surprisingly cool even when Marrakech is blazing hot outside. I mean, air conditioning is nice, but there’s something about those old building techniques that just works. The staff here actually knows what they’re doing too – they’ll sort you out with everything from restaurant recommendations to navigating the souks, and they don’t try to steer you toward their cousin’s carpet shop, which… well, if you’ve been to Marrakech, you know what I mean.
The location is pretty brilliant once you figure it out. You’re deep enough in the medina to feel like you’re really experiencing the city, but close enough to Bab Ailen that you can actually find your way back after a long day of getting lost in the souks. It’s maybe a 15-minute walk to Jemaa el-Fnaa – though honestly, everything in the medina feels like it takes forever when you’re dodging motorbikes and stopping to look at stuff. The breakfast situation is solid (they serve it on the rooftop terrace, which has these views over the medina that are particularly gorgeous in the morning light), and the whole place has this relaxed vibe that makes you want to just hang out and read a book by the fountain. I’ve stayed at flashier places in Marrakech, but this one has that 9.3 rating for a reason – it’s the kind of spot where everything just works without trying too hard to impress you.

What could be improved: At firs it looks far from Jemaa el -Fna but it's a walk of 20 minutes through litle local shops that makes you walk amusing.Abdul is an excellent host. – Judit from Hungary – 16 April 2025 (10/10)

Good breakfast and excellent dinner!Great hospitality and peaceful riad – Gabriela from Brazil – 11 April 2025 (10/10)
Everything was perfect. We had a lot of problems on our travel regarding hotels and flying tickets, and finding this Riad was a relief in the middle of this chaos. Once you enter this Riad, you find peace, we felt like home. We were received with the traditional moroccan tea and pastries, and every single time our host made sure if we were okay or needed anything. There were nights that they provided us tea and that was lovely. Every day that we went out we could leave our key so they could clean the room. The breakfast is DELICIOUS! Once you wake up, you go to the rooftop and they serve you there, with a rich selection of pancakes, msmen and a lot of complements. Our host was incredible and kind and we are extremely grateful for all the attention. We hope to come back again soon. Thank you very much!

A lovely ambiance. Lots of unique little nooks and crannies to while away reading, writing or time playing board games.
