The location on Arset Aouzal is honestly perfect if you want to experience authentic Marrakech without the tourist circus. You’re close enough to walk to Jemaa el-Fnaa in about ten minutes (though honestly, you’ll probably get turned around in those winding streets at least once), but far enough that you’re not dealing with the constant noise and hustling. The neighborhood feels genuinely local – you’ll pass actual residents going about their daily lives, not just other tourists with cameras. Getting there by taxi can be tricky since cars can’t navigate the narrow medina streets, but the staff will usually meet you at the nearest accessible point, which is really helpful when you’re dragging luggage over uneven cobblestones.

What really sets this place apart is how they’ve managed to keep the traditional architecture intact while making everything actually functional for modern travelers. The rooms have that classic Moroccan feel – you know, the carved plasterwork, rich textiles, those beautiful geometric patterns – but the bathrooms work properly and the air conditioning actually keeps up with Marrakech’s intense heat. The rooftop terrace is where you’ll probably spend your evenings, and the views over the medina at sunset are exactly what you’re hoping for without being touristy about it. The breakfast situation is solid too – they serve it in the courtyard, and there’s something really special about starting your day with fresh bread and mint tea while listening to the city slowly wake up around you. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work, not just going through the motions. They’ll help you navigate the medina, recommend places that aren’t total tourist traps, and actually remember your name after day one. With a 9.4 rating, it’s clearly not just me who thinks they’re doing something right – but it still feels like a discovery rather than just another hotel everyone talks about.

  Beautiful property just outside the old city walls with a very nice staff of people. My room was beautiful and comfortable! The kitchen staff will cook any meal for you you wanted and it was all very good food. I am a vegetarian and I am also gluten-free and they had no problem accommodating me. On a few days that I wanted something special I picked up fruits and vegetables at the corner stand and brought them back and asked the staff to prepare it with the regular breakfast. They were very happy to do so. They were so very thoughtful about every detail! When it was time for me to leave and catch my ride, they actually walked me out of the city walls for a good 10 minutes walk to show me exactly where I should catch my ride. I will come back and stay with them in the future.

  Riad Ajmal is in a great location if you are looking for authentic Riad experience, with easy access to everything as a tourist. Very safe part of the medina with a local friendly police guard and women walking around at night.
  The staff of Riad Ajmal are all super friendly and will advise you & look after you and prepare a fabulous typical Moroccan breakfast every morning. A fastidiously cleaned Riad and an incredible fragrant smell the whole time we were there.
  We booked a room for three & it was spacious, air-conditioned and everything we needed, including beautiful smelling toiletries. And the courtyard plunge pool is perfect for a middle of the day cool off, away from the hustle & bustle of the souks.
  
  What could be improved: Riad Ajmal is everything it seems – there is nothing not to like 🙂

  We had a wonderful stay here! The staff are so welcoming and helped us with everything we needed. The rooms are beautiful and felt very clean. The rooftop terrace was especially nice and the breakfast here was really good! I would highly recommend!

  We loved the Riad, it was beautiful and calm yet so close to the buzz of the souks. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, especially Hajar and Khalid, they made us feel really welcome. The breakfast was different every morning, all with delicious fresh bread and local recipes. The plunge pool was great at the end of a hot day
  and the beds were super comfy. It was only a short stay so we didn't get to try the dinners or the hammam there, but we have vowed to go back next time we're in Marrakech. Couldn't recommend it more!

  They calming cool interior and staff were amazing always willing and happy to help. The hamman was so refreshing and a welcome relief to tired aching body. Highly recommended! Everyone was happy to accommodate assist with any requests and booking which made everything 100% easier.
  
  What could be improved: Only slight niggle was the bed it personally a little to hard for me so took a few nights to get used too.

  My stay at Riad Ajmal in Marrakech was truly exceptional and went far beyond my expectations on every level. Although located in the heart of the city, the riad is in a very peaceful and quiet area – a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech.
  
  The riad itself is stunning, always smelling fresh and beautifully maintained, with charming green corners that added to the relaxing atmosphere. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind, always making us feel welcome and well taken care of.
  
  And the breakfast… absolutely divine! Without a doubt, the best one we had during our entire trip in Morocco.
  
  I couldn’t recommend Riad Ajmal more – it was a highlight of our journey and I’d love to come back!
