It’s tucked away on this narrow alley called Derb El Ferrane, and I mean really tucked away – you’ll probably walk past it twice before spotting the modest entrance. But that’s actually perfect because it means you’re getting the authentic medina experience without the chaos of the main tourist drags. The Jnane Ben Chagra area is one of those neighborhoods where locals still outnumber visitors, so you’ll hear the call to prayer echoing off ancient walls and catch glimpses of daily life that most tourists miss entirely.

Once you step inside though, honestly, it’s like entering a completely different world. The traditional riad layout – you know, rooms opening onto that central courtyard – works so well here because they’ve kept the original architecture while adding touches that actually make sense for modern travelers. The 4-star rating feels about right; it’s not trying to be some ultra-luxury palace, but everything works properly and the staff genuinely seems to care about your experience. I stayed during shoulder season in April, and the courtyard was this perfect temperature in the evenings where you could sit with mint tea and actually hear yourself think. The rooms vary quite a bit – some have these gorgeous carved wooden ceilings, others are more straightforward – but they all have that solid, cool-stone feeling that keeps you comfortable even when Marrakech gets properly hot.

What I really appreciated was how the location gives you options. You’re close enough to walk to Jemaa el-Fnaa in about 10 minutes (though good luck finding your way back without asking for directions at least once), but you’re also near some of the medina’s better local spots that don’t show up in guidebooks. There’s this little bakery on the way to the main square where locals grab their morning bread, and honestly, stopping there became part of my daily routine. The riad staff – and this is where that 8.7 rating makes sense – they’re not just polite, they actually know the neighborhood and will steer you toward things based on what you seem interested in, not just the obvious tourist checklist. The morning I wanted to find a hammam, the guy at reception didn’t just point me toward the fancy tourist ones, he told me about a local spot that was half the price and twice as authentic. That’s the kind of insider knowledge that turns a good trip into a memorable one.

  Het is een fijn verblijf voor familie of vrienden gezien je de ruimte niet hoeft te delen met anderen. Latifa is heel behulpzaam en maakt een heerlijk ontbijt!
  Het is fijn dat het “dak” open en dicht kan. Het dakterras is een plus, behalve de geur van de straatkatten. Wel fijn te zien dat er goed voor hen wordt gezorgd.
  De riad ligt op ongeveer 10 minuten lopen van de ingang van het Bahia Paleis, 12 minuten lopen van het El Badi Paleis en 15 minuten lopen van Djemaa El Fna.
  
  What could be improved: De geur vanuit de badkamers, met name de middelste op de 1e verdieping. En de geur van de katten op het dakterras.

  Cztery sypialnie z łazienkami , salon , pokój wypoczynowy na dole i super taras na dachu . Czysto , przyjemnie , cicho . Można zamówić typowe marokanskie śniadania. Bardzo polecam.

  What could be improved: Hard to park near and think we were scammed for a parking space on the nearest bigger road. Kitchen bin hadn’t been emptied and smelled of cigarettes and there was someone else’s cold left over cooked food in the fridge.
