Riad Alice Terrace & Spa Overview
I’ll be honest – I walked past Riad Alice Terrace & Spa twice before realizing I’d found it. The entrance on Rue de Berrima is pretty understated, which actually turned out to be perfect because you’re maybe a five-minute walk from the chaos of Jemaa el-Fnaa but completely insulated from the noise once you’re inside. The whole riad thing can feel gimmicky at some places, but this one gets it right – they’ve kept that traditional courtyard feel without making you feel like you’re sleeping in a museum.
What really struck me was how they’ve nailed the balance between authentic and comfortable. The rooms have those gorgeous tadelakt walls (that’s the traditional Moroccan plaster technique, super smooth and cool to the touch), but you’re not sacrificing modern comforts. The air conditioning actually works – trust me, this matters in Marrakech summers. The spa is honestly the highlight though. I mean, you can find hammams all over the medina, but having one integrated into your hotel where you’re not navigating language barriers or wondering about cleanliness standards? That’s worth the splurge. The terrace they mention in the name isn’t just marketing fluff either – it’s got these incredible views over the medina rooftops, and you can actually see the Atlas Mountains on clear days.
The staff here knows their stuff too. They’re not just friendly (which, honestly, is pretty standard in Morocco – people are genuinely welcoming), but they have that local knowledge that makes a difference. When I asked about getting to the Majorelle Garden, they didn’t just say “take a taxi” – they told me which entrance to use, what time to go to avoid crowds, and suggested pairing it with a visit to the Berber Museum that I wouldn’t have known about otherwise. The breakfast situation is solid – they serve it on the terrace when weather permits, and while it’s not a massive buffet, everything’s fresh and you get those amazing Moroccan oranges that somehow taste completely different from anywhere else. One small thing that impressed me: they have proper coffee alongside the traditional mint tea, which sounds trivial but you’ll appreciate it if you’re not a tea person. The location puts you right in the heart of the medina without being on one of those crazy busy streets where you’re dodging motorbikes every ten steps. You can walk to the souks, the main square, all the major sites, but when you come back at night, Rue de Berrima is actually quiet enough to sleep. That 9.5 rating isn’t inflated – this place delivers on the whole Marrakech experience without the usual compromises.

A wonderful, central, enjoyable stay in a beautiful riad! – Amana from Thailand – 7 April 2025 (10/10)
It is lovely riad! Peaceful, clean, comfortable, with a wonderful kind and helpful staff! The location made it very easy to walk to many main attractions, and Alice was also very helpful with suggestions of places we might enjoy and how to get around. Breakfast on the rooftop was delicious and a peaceful way to start the mornings! The staff even went out of their way to leave us breakfast to go for the morning we had to leave super early in the morning! Also…the beds are amazingly comfortable!
I would highly recommend a stay here!Excellent – Paardenpas from Netherlands – 4 April 2025 (9/10)
Nice people/staff, hospitable. They do their best to ensure a nice stay in Marrakech. Advisable! Feels safe and comforable in this part of the city and so near the centre. Also good to reach by taxi.
Beyond amazing! – Heather from United Kingdom – 29 March 2025 (10/10)
An absolutely wonderful experience staying at Riad Alice. The Riad itself is beautiful and peaceful, the food is amazing and the hammam was brilliant. The staff working there could not do enough to meet our every need. I can not recommend this Riad highly enough.
