Riad Art & Emotions Boutique Hotel & Spa Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Riad Art & Emotions? The location is absolutely insane – and I mean that in the best way possible. You’re literally steps from Jemaa el-Fna square, which honestly sounds like it would be a nightmare with all the noise and chaos, but somehow they’ve managed to create this peaceful bubble right in the heart of it all. I mean, you walk through the entrance on Rue Riad Zitoun el Kdim and suddenly you’re in this gorgeous traditional riad with that classic central courtyard that just… breathes.

The art thing isn’t just marketing fluff either – there’s actually thoughtful pieces throughout the place, and the spa (which I’ll admit I was skeptical about) turned out to be genuinely relaxing. What really impressed me was how they’ve kept the authentic Moroccan architecture while making everything feel comfortable for travelers who might not be used to traditional riads. The rooms have that perfect balance of local character without feeling like you’re sleeping in a museum. And here’s something practical nobody tells you – the staff actually knows the medina inside and out, so when they give you directions or recommendations, they’re not just reciting from a script. They’ll tell you which alleys to avoid after dark and where to find the best mint tea that isn’t tourist-priced.

The 8.9 rating makes total sense once you’re there. It’s not trying to be some massive resort with every amenity under the sun, but what it does, it does really well. The location alone is worth the stay – you can stumble back from exploring the souks in about three minutes, but when you want to escape the intensity of the square (and trust me, you will), you’ve got this serene courtyard to decompress in. I stayed there during shoulder season and it was perfectly quiet at night, though I imagine it gets busier when Marrakech hits peak tourist season. The whole experience feels authentically Moroccan without being overwhelming, which is honestly harder to find than you’d think in a city that’s become so popular with international travelers.

Reviews of Riad Art & Emotions Boutique Hotel & Spa

  • A prefect chilled stay – Nadia from France – 6 July 2025 (10/10)

Location, cleanliness, staff super friendly, air con. Some rooms have 2 air cons.

What could be improved: Breakfast could have been much much better.

  • A wonderful stay in the best riad! – Sara from Italy – 17 June 2025 (10/10)

Everything was perfect: the riad is in the best location of Marrakech, close to all the attractions and 1 min from the main square Jemaa El Fna. The staff is absolutely amazing, we felt like home. The room has been cleaned all the day and we have been provided with all the necessary goods. The view from the terrace is spectacular and the breakfast exquisite. Best staff and best riad in the city. I’ll be back for sure!!

  • A beautiful Riad in a perfect location – Rita from Portugal – 28 May 2025 (10/10)

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location couldn’t be better, just beside the place Jemaa el fna.
Very delicious breakfast at the terrace.
    The Riad is very beautiful.

  • Exceptional – Rachel from Ireland – 25 May 2025 (10/10)

Excellent location. Beautiful room. Lovely breakfast

What could be improved: Nothing of note.

  • Perfect, recommend! – Marta from Portugal – 27 April 2025 (10/10)

The location is perfect to visit all the main sites in marrakech and very central literally on the side of the main plaza. The Google Maps shows you the WAY and then we just need to follow the indication boards and found easily the Riad. Since there is always movement around we always felt safe coming back late at Night. The welcoming tea and itinerary advice, the kindness printing the airplane tickets made us feel so welcome and comfortable. The breakfast was really good and full and was on the rooftop with a view to the main square. Everything was clean, towels changed everyday! The staff was really kind and helpfull. Totally recommend to have the Riad experience!

  • So happy with this charming riad! – Suzanne from United States – 13 April 2025 (10/10)

Once I turned right onto the little road that’s just off the souk entrance from Djemma el Fna Square I felt I’d stepped into an inviting world and once inside the riad I felt … Wow – what a cool little gem! And my self congratulations for my choice continued. A warm welcome from the staff with a map and tips on landmark locations including best money exchange. The room with towels folded into swans surrounded by red rose petals. A sweet bathroom with beautiful tiles and a shower with good water pressure and plenty of hot water.
Then there are the rooftop terraces with sun and shade and healthy plants – one for lounging, one for dining. Both look out at the square. Breakfast was more than enough and I shared my left over omelette with the stray cats and my apple slices with the carriage horses. I decided to enjoy a late lunch. Chef Souad took my order and she made me the most delicious vegetarian pastilla I’ve ever eaten. It took a while but the wait was well worth it! She brought it out to me and it was just beautiful with a lovely golden crust garnished with chopped olives and cilantro. I ordered another for dinner my last night.

What could be improved: I can’t think of a negative thing to say about the property or my experience.

  • Great rooftop – Sika-marie from New Zealand – 10 April 2025 (10/10)

Beautiful riad in a great location to the square and the husks and bustle but super quiet place to stay. Awesome views from the rooftop and good food.

  • Great location, CLEAN, might stay again. – Bibi from Italy – 8 April 2025 (9/10)

    Great location, everything is clean.
Nice terrace with the direct view of Jemma el fna.

    Staff is polite and professional.

    The room is clean.

They kept our bags after check out.

    Thank you.

    We definitely might book again.

What could be improved: We had a short stay because they had only 1 night available so there is not much we didn’t like.

The mint tea we had was kinda expensive, 5€.

Morocco is loosing that homey welcoming aspect, ofc with that many tourist. So the people who work, they are just doing their job and you are just one of many.

This is normal and it’s not a critique, it would maybe be nice to feel more welcome. More free spirit, homey vibes.

But staff is very polite and gave us two nice soaps at the check out as a gift.

  • Amazing, would absolutely book again – Shannon from United States – 1 April 2025 (10/10)

The location was unbeatable and the hospitality was like we’ve never experienced. The hosts made us feel like royalty and truly went above and beyond to help us with any requests.

What could be improved: The rooms are not sound proof at all and with being a light sleeper it was hard to sleep with hearing lots of different people moving around throughout the night.

  • Really enjoyed our stay. Super location and great staff – Conor from Ireland – 24 March 2025 (10/10)

Staff were really excellent especially Zovarin. Super location in the middle of the Medina.

What could be improved: A little dated and not easy to find.
