Riad Azia Overview
You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Riad Azia on Route Amezmiz – honestly, the whole Tasseltant area feels pretty residential and quiet compared to the chaos of the medina. But stepping through that heavy wooden door was like finding a secret in plain sight. The place has this incredible inner courtyard that just makes you stop and breathe for a second, with those traditional Moroccan tiles that somehow stay cool even when it’s blazing outside. The staff actually remembers your name after day one, which is rare these days, and they’ve got this way of anticipating what you need without hovering around.
What really got me was how they’ve managed to keep the authentic riad feel while making everything work for modern travelers. The rooms aren’t huge – I mean, it’s a traditional riad, so you’re not getting some sprawling resort suite – but they’re designed so thoughtfully. The beds are seriously comfortable (I’m picky about this stuff), and the bathrooms have these gorgeous tadelakt finishes that feel smooth as silk. The wifi actually works throughout the property, which can be hit or miss in Marrakech riads, and there’s this lovely rooftop terrace where you can see the Atlas Mountains on clear days. The location is perfect if you want to experience Marrakech without being right in the tourist madness – you’re about a 15-minute taxi ride to Jemaa el-Fnaa, but far enough out that you can actually sleep at night without hearing scooters and street vendors until 2 AM.
Here’s the thing that really sets this place apart: the breakfast situation is phenomenal. They serve it in the courtyard, and you get proper Moroccan pastries alongside your usual options, plus the best mint tea I had during my entire stay. The 9.2 rating makes total sense when you experience the attention to detail – like how they leave traditional sweets in your room, or the way they’ll arrange day trips without making you feel like you’re being sold something. The pool area is small but perfect for cooling off in the afternoon heat, and there’s enough shade that you’re not constantly moving around chasing shadows. If you’re looking for that authentic Moroccan experience but want reliable comfort and service, this place nails it. Just book early if you’re planning to visit during peak season – places like this with genuine character and reasonable prices don’t stay secret for long.

Reviews of Riad Azia
Simply lovely. – James from Australia – 9 July 2025 (9/10)
We had a fantastic stay at Riad Azia, and much of that is thanks to the wonderful host, Khalid. From the moment we arrived, he was incredibly helpful and welcoming. He went out of his way to make our experience smooth and comfortable, even allowing us to switch rooms when we requested it.
What really stood out was his support when we had a very early departure – he arranged a taxi for 3:30am and was even up at that hour to let us out and personally say goodbye. That level of care and attention is rare and really appreciated.
Khalid is warm, personable, and genuinely wants guests to have the best experience possible. Thanks to him, our stay was stress-free and enjoyable. Highly recommend Riad Azia to anyone visiting – you’ll be well looked after!Very good – Fernando from Portugal – 8 July 2025 (8/10)

Amazing Riad in Marrakech – Imraan from United Kingdom – 17 June 2025 (10/10)
Hamza and his entire team were all very kind and welcoming. They made us feel very comfortable at the riad. They arranged for us the airport transfers and also transfers to the town very promptly.
The food was amazing and it was traditional Moroccan style cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The kitchen team went out of their way to provide meals everyday, even on our last day they fed us a good lunch before we checked out, this was so kind of them!
The massage and facial treatment done for my wife was amazing!
The riad was very peaceful and the cats and their kittens were so playful.
We will definitely consider going back to this riad on our next trip!

What a great stay! Elegant riad, spacious rooms, extremely clean, incredibly kind staff, convenient location (10 minutes to the center by public transportation, absolutely reliable; 5 minutes from the airport by private transfer), quiet area, generous breakfast, perfect Wi-Fi. There are several options for meals, cafes, a bakery and a grocery store at a 2-minute walk. Next time I'll give their restaurant a try as it smelled sooo good!
What could be improved: –Wonderful stay at Riaz Azia – Amanda from United Kingdom – 8 May 2025 (10/10)
Fantastic stay at Riad Azia, on our second trip to Marrakech. Everything was seamless from our arrival at the Riad which was rather late due to delays and our drop off at the Airport, offered by the accommodation. Breakfast was fantastic and a treat to start every day with. Issam and Chaimae went above and beyond to make our stay special. Highly recommend staying here!
