Riad Bayti Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Riad Bayti? The moment you step through that heavy wooden door on Derb Saka, it’s like someone hit the mute button on Marrakech. I mean, the Mellah quarter can get pretty intense with all the foot traffic heading to and from the main medina, but this place – honestly, it’s this perfect little sanctuary tucked away where you’d never expect it.
The thing about staying in the Mellah is that most tourists don’t really venture here much, which is actually kind of perfect if you ask me. You’re close enough to walk to Jemaa el-Fnaa (maybe 10-15 minutes through the narrow streets), but you’re not dealing with the constant buzz of vendors and tour groups right outside your door. The riad itself has that classic Moroccan courtyard setup – you know, the kind where you can hear the fountain trickling while you’re having mint tea – but what really got me was how well-maintained everything felt. The tilework isn’t chipped or faded like some places I’ve stayed, and the staff actually remembers your name after the first day, which sounds small but makes a huge difference when you’re trying to navigate a new city.
I stayed there during shoulder season in October, and honestly, the rooftop terrace became my favorite spot around sunset. You can see the Atlas Mountains on clear days, and there’s something really peaceful about watching the light change over the medina from up there. The rooms themselves are spacious – well, spacious for a traditional riad anyway – and the air conditioning actually works, which isn’t always a given in these older buildings. One thing I appreciated was that they don’t blast music in the common areas or try to recreate some Disney version of Morocco. It feels authentic without being stuffy about it. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the WiFi can be spotty in some of the ground-floor rooms, but honestly, that might be a blessing in disguise. Oh, and if you’re planning to explore the souks, the staff here actually knows which vendors are worth your time versus the ones who’ll follow you around for twenty minutes – that local knowledge is worth its weight in gold when you’re trying to buy a decent tagine or some saffron without getting completely ripped off.

Reviews of Riad Bayti
Superb – Lukasz from Poland – 5 July 2025 (9/10)
Hospitality of the staff, plunge pool, comfortable bed, general vibe of the place and location next to spice market.
What could be improved: Could be few degrees higher in the pool 😉 There was a small renovation of one of the rooms behind the wall. The noise level was manageable and staff made effort to make this as least problematic as possible. Cannot think of anything else!Lovely hotel with oasis inside medina. – Lisa from United States – 28 June 2025 (10/10)
Little oasis in the medina near spice market. Beautiful decor and plants and birds. We stayed top floor in family suite and had our own little patio as well as top terrace.
What could be improved: Sad we didnt stay more than one night. Priced a bit high for Morocco. Pool a bit small.Perfect place to visit Marrakech! – Luisa from Portugal – 16 June 2025 (10/10)
The Riad offers excellent facilities and the staff are all very friendly. It made our visit to Marrakech special.

Excellent Riad in great location! – Jennie from France – 30 May 2025 (10/10)
Everything was amazing! We were welcomed from the airport pick up and were taken care of from that moment forwards. Breakfast was incredible and staff made me feel very special on my birthday. My son said it was the best breakfast he has ever had. Speed was a welcome breakfast addition and my son enjoyed playing in the pool.
What could be improved: Nothing – everything was great for us.Amazing Experience! – Kshitij from United Kingdom – 30 May 2025 (9/10)
The location is very central. You are in the heart of the city with most attractions within walking distance. You also get a true 'riad' experience in this heritage property. Very friendly staff. The breakfast is amazing!! The Riad helped me book a local guide as per my request and also book a prepaid taxi to the airport. It is not too much inside the narrow lanes so easy to find and a short walk from where the taxis drop people off at Place Mellah.
Exceptional – Carlo from United Kingdom – 27 May 2025 (10/10)
Great experience, i would highly recommend!

A lovely stay – we will come again! – Nicholas from United Kingdom – 18 May 2025 (10/10)
Peaceful and very friendly.
The breakfast was fresh and tasty.
I booked for dinner for first night. It was a real surprise. It was fantastic value; the food was fresh – even homemade sweet bread.
Good location, just a short walk to everywhere: markets and also the sights.
What could be improved: Nothing!
