Riad Casa Lalla Overview
You know what struck me first about Riad Casa Lalla? It’s tucked away on this narrow little street – Derb Jamaa – that honestly feels like you’re walking through a maze when you’re trying to find it. I mean, that’s half the charm of staying in the medina, but fair warning: your taxi’s going to drop you at the entrance to the quarter and you’ll be wheeling your suitcase over cobblestones for a few minutes. Worth it though, because once you step through that heavy wooden door, it’s like entering a completely different world.
The riad itself is exactly what you picture when you think of Marrakech – that gorgeous central courtyard with the fountain in the middle, intricate tilework climbing the walls, and this incredible sense of calm that feels almost impossible given you’re literally in the heart of one of Morocco’s busiest cities. The rooms wrap around that courtyard, and honestly, each one feels like a little sanctuary. I stayed in one of the upper-level rooms and the details just blew me away – hand-carved furniture, these beautiful textiles, and the bathroom had this massive tadelakt shower that made me never want to leave. The 4-star rating feels about right, maybe even conservative, because while it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, everything feels thoughtfully done.
What really sets this place apart is the location – you’re in Riad Zitoun Lakdim, which puts you walking distance from basically everything that matters. The Bahia Palace is maybe a 10-minute stroll, and you can easily wander over to the souks or hit Jemaa el-Fnaa square when you want that full sensory overload experience. But here’s the thing locals know: this particular street is just far enough from the main tourist drag that it actually gets quiet at night. You’ll hear the call to prayer echoing off the walls in the morning (which is actually pretty magical), but you’re not dealing with the constant noise of motorbikes and vendors that you get closer to the main square. The staff really knows their stuff too – they’ll draw you little maps, recommend the good hammams, and they have this network of guides who aren’t going to try to drag you into their cousin’s carpet shop every five minutes. That 8.9 rating makes total sense to me because this isn’t just a place to sleep, it’s like having a local friend who happens to own a gorgeous traditional house and lets you crash there while you explore the city.

Reviews of Riad Casa Lalla
Stunning accomodation and location – Nia from United Kingdom – 2 July 2025 (10/10)
Very convenient location for visiting various tourist sites around the city.
The rooms were very comfortable, we stayed in the junior suites on the bottom floor.
The food in the restaurant was absolutely amazing! One of the nicest meals we’ve ever had!
Sun-beds on the terrace were again very comfortable, and towels and sun-hats provided.
What could be improved: The umbrellas on the terrace need replacing! There were so many holes in them there was hardly any point having them up!Perfect for a long weekend – Michele from Spain – 23 May 2025 (8/10)
Location was perfect, so peaceful away from all the madness but close enough to find everything easily. And the restaurant is definitely an amazing plus

My wife and I had an unforgettable stay at Casa Lalla! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality. The riad is beautifully designed, with a perfect blend of traditional Moroccan charm and modern comfort. Our room was cozy and elegant, offering a peaceful retreat from the bustling streets of Marrakech. The inner courtyard and rooftop terrace were perfect spots to relax and soak in the atmosphere. Casa Lalla truly felt like a home away from home—we can’t wait to return

We stayed 6th-9th of December. Weather was perfect, not too hot and not too cold. I would definitely recommend this riad – Shakera from United Kingdom – 5 January 2025 (10/10)
The Riad was absolutely beautiful and clean. Had a comfortable bed and a clean bathroom with hot water facilities. The rooftop breakfast was wonderful. Fresh juices and omelettes made when requested. They had a Hammam and massage service available at the Riad. The hammam was amazing and would definitely recommend. The staff were all friendly and spoke some English, enough for us to understand them and vice versa. The location was very close to everything. A few minutes walk to shops and restaurants and Jemaa fe naa square. We walked to all the sightseeing locations as it was all close by, didn’t need to call a taxi at all.

We had a lovely stay at Casa Lalla. The riad is cozy and beautifully decorated, and the atmosphere is so peaceful. The staff was attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed. We also tried the restaurant, and the food was delicious—especially the lamb dish. It was a great experience overall, and we’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting Marrakech.
