The entrance is basically just a door on Derb Tlitli, and from the outside you’re thinking “this is it?” But man, step through that doorway and it’s like entering a completely different world. The courtyard just opens up around you with this gorgeous fountain in the center, and honestly, the sound of the water immediately drowns out all the chaos from the souks outside. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa (which can be a blessing and a curse depending on how much you love drum circles at midnight), but inside here it’s this peaceful oasis that feels worlds away.

What really got me was the attention to detail – and I’m not talking about generic “luxury touches” here. The zellij tilework is actually stunning, clearly done by craftsmen who know their stuff, and the staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work. The rooms vary quite a bit since it’s a converted traditional house, so definitely ask about what you’re getting when you book. Some have those amazing carved cedar ceilings that make you want to just lie in bed and stare up, while others are more modest but still comfortable. The rooftop terrace is where you’ll probably spend your evenings though – there’s something magical about watching the Atlas Mountains change color at sunset while sipping mint tea. Just don’t expect huge rooms or ultra-modern everything; this is about experiencing authentic Moroccan architecture, and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special.

Here’s what you actually need to know: the location in Riad Zitoun Jdid is pretty perfect for exploring. You’re close enough to walk to all the major sites without being right in the tourist hurricane, and the neighborhood has this lived-in feel where you’ll see locals going about their daily business. Getting there can be tricky the first time (tip: screenshot the directions and maybe grab a photo of nearby landmarks), but once you figure out the route, it’s actually quite straightforward. The 8.5 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind with modern luxury, but if you’re looking for that authentic riad experience without paying palace prices, this place delivers. I’d definitely stay here again, especially since the staff remembered my name and coffee preferences by day two, which honestly means more to me than marble bathrooms and room service menus.

  Great location, comfortable and clean rooms. It is very close to Bahia Palace and easy walk to Jemma El-Fnaa. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. We had asked for an airport pickup and that made it easy to locate the Riad. The breakfast was good.
  
  What could be improved: Room was conjusted but not really a problem as we didn't spend so much time in the room.

  Fantastic location, lovely and clean and very friendly staff who were always on hand, helpful and welcoming. We loved the Riad, it was calm and has a great roof terrace where we had breakfast every day.

  The host was very hospitable. He offered us a welcome tea. It has a good location (close to Bahia palace), a clean and cozy room, and comfortable mattresses. The room and bathroom have heaters (which is good during the cold nights).
  
  What could be improved: Breakfast could be better and fresh. Small bathroom. Windows didn't isolate the noise from the street.

  Excellent accommodation. Everything works perfectly: efficient air conditioning, good shower, comfortable bed, adequately sized bathroom and daily cleaning.
  Jamal is a great host and Mohammed's affection and attention are essential for very pleasant days in this riad.
  Mohammed prepares a delicious breakfast with breads, sweets, juices and coffee.
  The location is convenient, close to the main tourist attractions to do on foot.
  For people with dietary restrictions or who are not used to local cuisine, the Riad has a kitchen equipped to prepare our own meals.
  
  What could be improved: The only tip I would give is the possibility of installing some hooks on the bedroom wall, it would be very useful for hanging everyday things, such as towels, coats, etc.

  Jamal and Muhammad were excellent and responded to all our every request. Jamal organised our excursions which were excellent and he was also very responsive. He aLao provided us with sound local knowledge. We had the Africaine suite which was a sole room on the ground floor located next to the lounge area, which I expected to be noisy but as there were only about 6 rooms in total, it was not a problem. Cleaners were great, and Muhammad was ever-present. The location was close to Jamal al Fna and the Bahia Palace, which was perfect.
  
  What could be improved: The rooftop breakfast was without a view. Breakfast was standard and needed more variety.

  It was amazing time in this nice riad. We can highly recommend! Riad is nice, clean, with a good location and friendly atmosphere. Breakfast and dinner delicious! The rooms are nice and clean. Nice view from rooftop where is whirlpool for relax! Everything was perfect. The owner and staff are amazing! Very kind staff who will do everything for your satisfaction and with a smile. Thank you for everything! We can give 10/10!!!

  A little gem in the medina next to the Bahia palace and a fabulous restaurant
  We had the suite on the roof with beautiful terrace and small splash pool
