You know what I love about this spot? It’s genuinely in the heart of old Marrakech without being on one of those crazy busy tourist streets where you can barely walk. The Diour Jdad area gives you that authentic medina experience — I mean, you’re sharing these ancient pathways with locals going about their daily lives. Getting to Jemaa el-Fnaa takes maybe ten minutes on foot, but honestly, you’ll want to wander and get a little lost along the way. The souks are right there too, which is perfect for ducking in and out between the heat of the day.

Each room here has its own personality — some overlook the central courtyard while others peek out toward the medina rooftops. The traditional Moroccan design isn’t just for show either; those thick walls actually keep things cool during the day and the tile work is genuinely beautiful, not the mass-produced stuff you see in some places. The beds are comfortable (which isn’t always a given in riads, to be honest), and there’s enough space to spread out your things without feeling cramped. Air conditioning works well too, which you’ll definitely appreciate during summer months.

Breakfast on the rooftop terrace is probably my favorite part of staying here. They serve both halal and gluten-free options, which is thoughtful, and the fresh orange juice — well, this is Morocco, so it’s incredible. You’re eating with views over the medina’s rooftops while the city slowly wakes up below. There isn’t a full restaurant on-site, but honestly, that’s not a problem when you’re surrounded by some of the best food in Marrakech just steps away. The staff can point you toward their favorite local spots, and trust me, their recommendations are solid.

Why Guests Love It
