Riad Dar More Overview
You know what struck me first about Riad Dar More? The moment you step through that heavy wooden door on Derb Jdid, all the chaos of the medina just… disappears. I mean, you’re literally steps away from the main souks – I could hear the calls of vendors selling everything from spices to leather goods – but inside this riad, it’s like finding a secret oasis that someone forgot to put on the tourist maps.
The thing about staying in Riad Zitoun Lakdim is that you’re actually living like locals do, not just visiting. My room opened onto this gorgeous central courtyard with orange trees (honestly, the smell of orange blossoms in the morning was better than any alarm clock), and I’d watch the light change on the traditional tiles throughout the day. The staff here – they don’t just work at the hotel, they genuinely seem to love sharing their city with you. Ahmed at the front desk drew me a hand-sketched map showing which alleys to take to avoid the tourist crowds when heading to Jemaa el-Fnaa, and he was spot-on. The rooftop terrace is where you’ll want to spend your evenings, by the way – you can see the Atlas Mountains on clear days, and the sunset views over the medina are absolutely unreal.
What really sets this place apart though is how they’ve managed to keep it authentic without sacrificing comfort. The rooms have that traditional Moroccan feel – think carved wood, rich fabrics, and those gorgeous geometric patterns everywhere – but the bathrooms are modern and the beds are actually comfortable (not always a given in riads, if I’m being honest). It gets pretty quiet at night, which surprised me given how central it is, though you’ll still hear the occasional call to prayer echoing across the rooftops. The breakfast spread includes proper Moroccan pastries and fresh orange juice that tastes like sunshine, and they serve it in that beautiful courtyard where you can plan your day without feeling rushed. I stayed there in March, which turned out to be perfect timing – warm enough for the rooftop but not scorching hot, and way less crowded than the peak season madness. If you’re looking for a place that feels like staying in someone’s beautifully restored family home rather than a generic hotel, this is it.

Breakfast was tasty and the hotel is very clean and rustic
Staff is very friendly
Bathroom and shower was modern and enjoyable
What could be improved: Room is on the small size and there is no mini fridgeExceptional – Josephine from Switzerland – 1 June 2025 (10/10)
The staff were very attentive and helpful, the Riad was beautiful and very relaxing. Breakfast was very good and the staff prepared a breakfast to go for us when we had to take an early bus.

Nice Riad in the Heart of Medina. – Seungyeon from Spain – 24 May 2025 (9/10)
The staff were incredibly friendly, and we really liked the interior—it was stylish without being over-the-top, creating a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere.
What could be improved: The bedding was quite clean, but the pillows and mattress weren’t very comfortable. It would be great if they could be improved.Exceptional – Nebojsa from United States – 16 May 2025 (10/10)
very carings hosts – very polite, caring, safe, clean … thank you
Beautiful Road with lovely staff – Tsvetomira from Bulgaria – 27 April 2025 (10/10)
The staff were so lovely! And the breakfast was exceptional!
It was in a very convenient location, close to the popular Dar Dar restaurant and the famous spice souk.
What could be improved: I really didn’t enjoy staying in the media and being so close to the chaos. However, we did realise that most of the riads were situated in a similar location so this is not a con of Road dar More in particular.Lovely location with cozy bedroom and courtyard. – Winnie from United Kingdom – 25 April 2025 (8/10)
Location is perfect and is close to many landmarks while nicely hidden away from the soukes.
Very cozy room and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Best introductory mint tea on arrival.
What could be improved: Facilities could do its some enhancements such as more rails for hand towel and body towels. Adding usb sockets around the bed area for mobiles. Adding a safe box would give some tourist some reassurance.I only stayed one night. Was nice in general – Luen from Netherlands – 20 March 2025 (9/10)
Interior design
Friendly staff
Clean room
What could be improved: The room size is a bit small for 2 guests to open their luggages.
A guy, who’s not really working in the riad, was sent to pick me up from the closest parking point. It was a 5 minutes walk and I had only one piece of luggage of 13kg. When we arrived, I gave him 2 euros for tips. He said : this is nothing, give me 5 euros. I felt very uncomfortable.Beautiful and artistic – Wil from Canada – 10 March 2025 (10/10)
Beautiful and artistic location
