RIAD DAR NAOMI Overview
Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of riads in Marrakech, and honestly, most of them try way too hard to impress you with fancy tiles and over-the-top decorations. Riad Dar Naomi is different – it’s actually got soul, you know? Tucked away on Derb Manchoura in the Mellah quarter, it feels like you’re staying in someone’s family home rather than a tourist trap. The location is perfect if you want to experience the real Marrakech without being completely overwhelmed by the chaos of the main medina streets.
What really got me was how quiet it is once you step through that heavy wooden door. I mean, you’re still hearing the call to prayer and the occasional donkey cart rumbling by, but it’s not the constant sensory assault you get near Jemaa el-Fna. The courtyard – and every riad has one, but this one’s special – has this incredible orange tree that fills the whole space with the most amazing scent in the evenings. The rooms are spacious (which isn’t always a given in the medina), and the traditional tadelakt walls feel cool to the touch even when it’s blazing hot outside. The staff here actually remembers your name and your morning coffee preference, which sounds small but makes such a difference when you’re navigating culture shock.
Here’s what I really appreciated: they don’t try to sell you excursions every five minutes, but when you do need help – like figuring out how to get to the Saadian Tombs without getting completely lost – they give you actual useful directions instead of vague hand gestures. The breakfast situation is solid too, with fresh orange juice that tastes like sunshine and bread that’s still warm from the local bakery. One thing though – if you’re the type who needs to be stumbling distance from bars and restaurants, this might feel a bit removed. But honestly, that’s what makes it so peaceful. You’re a ten-minute walk from the action when you want it, but you can actually sleep at night without earplugs. The rooftop terrace gives you those Instagram-worthy views of the Atlas Mountains, especially at sunset, but more importantly, it’s where you’ll probably end up spending your evenings with a mint tea, just watching the city settle into darkness.

Exceptional – Andrei from United Arab Emirates – 2 July 2025 (10/10)
Great location. Very close to Palace Bahia (definitely must see). Wonderful personal, gave me a map, showed all sightseeings on it with nice restaurants as well. Complimentary Moroccan tea every evening. Could not ask for more.
What could be improved: Nothing to mentionA fantastic and relaxing stay with an exceptional host in the heart of Marrakech’s lively chaos. – Lysander from Denmark – 2 July 2025 (10/10)
We had an absolutely lovely stay at this hotel. In the midst of the hustle and bustle of Marrakech, it felt like a peaceful oasis – calm, quiet, and beautifully maintained. It was the perfect place to unwind after exploring the lively streets of the medina.
Our host, Anas, was truly exceptional. He was incredibly helpful in so many ways – not only as a great fixer who could help with anything we needed, but also as a genuinely kind and caring person. When my partner and I fell ill during our stay, Anas went above and beyond to assist us, and we’re so grateful for his support.
Highly recommended – we would absolutely stay here again!Exceptional – Donald from United States – 18 June 2025 (10/10)
The staff was outstanding. They welcomed me like family and went out of their way to help.me get the most out of my short stay.
Entering the Riad is like stepping back in time with its enclosed courtyard and water feature.
The location was convenient with restaurants, shops, and tourist sites nearby.Exceptional – Zubeela from Pakistan – 18 May 2025 (10/10)
Location was perfect. Just next to bahia and walking distance from badi and tombs. Jem al fana main square, secret garden and madrassa were also 20-30 min walk.
Very traditional and cozy place with plenty of small and beautiful sitting corners. If you want to spend some time inside (due to hot weather) you will enjoy these cozy spaces.
Rooftop sitting area was nice to enjoy sunset and night view.
Good breakfast.
Staff was really nice. Anas and ashraf received me and guided me through all important places to go along with map. They helped me with figuring out early morning taxi as well.
Highly recommended place.Perfect place for visiting Marrakech – Eliza from United Kingdom – 14 May 2025 (9/10)
Perfect place for visiting Marrakech! Amazing riad, well designed, well furnished, kept very clean and inviting.
I've stayed in perhaps most modest room they have and it had Hilton quality bed, I swear! No problems with the water pressure at the shower, lovely towels and 2500W hairdryer, a bathroom to make a girl very happy. I booked Riad Dar Naomi because of Bahia Palace nearby and a walking distance to tourist places and have discovered a gem. Easy to find, easy to get to by taxi, zero of usual Marrakech stress of navigating confusing souks' streets. Great food and excellent hammam in the vicinity. And the staff! The team at the riad is marvelous and makes your stay perfect! Nothing is a problem for these guys: dietary requirements, delayed guests/luggage, flu, taxi, too much artisan shopping, they have it all under control. I will be back.
What could be improved: The riad pool is only decorative. Very pretty but no swimming.A superb stay in Marrakesh medina – Simon from Slovenia – 8 May 2025 (10/10)
It is perfectly located, staff, breakfast, really super!

Beautifully nestled into the Jewish quarters, this is an oasis! Lovely staff and gorgeous building, the roof cannot be missed. We had a fantastic stay in the Casa Blanca room.
