Riad Dar Sirine Overview
You know what hit me first about Riad Dar Sirine? The silence. I mean, you’re literally steps away from the chaos of the medina – and trust me, Derb Kadi Haja Sidi Mimoun gets its fair share of foot traffic – but once you slip through that heavy wooden door, it’s like someone hit the mute button on Marrakech. The whole place is built around this gorgeous central courtyard with a fountain that actually works (not always a given in riads, honestly), and the sound of trickling water just drowns out everything else.
The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in the medina without losing your mind trying to find your way back each night. It’s in Sidi Mimoun, which locals know as one of the quieter pockets – close enough to Jemaa el-Fnaa that you can walk there in about ten minutes, but far enough that you’re not dealing with the tourist crowds stumbling past your door at midnight. The riad itself feels authentically Moroccan without being stuffy about it. The rooms have those traditional tadelakt walls (that’s the polished plaster technique they use here) and genuine Berber rugs, but they’ve also figured out that travelers need things like decent Wi-Fi and bathrooms where the shower doesn’t flood the entire floor. Small victories, you know?
What really sets this place apart though is the staff – they seem to actually live in Marrakech, not just work there, if that makes sense. When I asked about getting to the Majorelle Gardens, the guy at reception didn’t just point me toward a taxi. He explained which local bus to take, warned me about the weekend crowds, and suggested hitting the garden first thing in the morning when the light is better anyway. That kind of insider knowledge you can’t fake. The rooftop terrace is where you’ll probably spend your evenings – the view isn’t palace-level spectacular, but you get these glimpses of the Atlas Mountains on clear days, and honestly, watching the sun set over the medina’s maze of rooftops while sipping mint tea is pretty hard to beat. Fair warning though: if you’re here during Ramadan, the call to prayer from the nearby mosque is… well, let’s just say you’ll be up early. But even that becomes part of the experience after a day or two. The 8.8 rating makes sense – it’s the kind of place that does everything well without trying too hard to impress you, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need after a day of haggling in the souks.

Great Riad! Included dinner is a very nice addition as well as a beautiful view from the terrace.
We stayed in two riads in Marakesh, and if I were to go back again, I'd definitely choose this one.
Very good value for the price. Close to the airport and the medina.Exceptional – Rosita from Bulgaria – 11 May 2025 (10/10)

Breakfast was great – omelette, pancake, orange juice, coffee, bread with jam, honey and cheese spread.
Room was spotless.
Bed was so comfty, mattress 100%
Roof top to sit on and chill with duty free.
Spa masage was fantastic.
The staff are 100% fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble. ALL friendly and helpful. They printed off boarding passes, arranged taxis, found my lost glasses etc etc 😍
What could be improved: It was our1st experience in a Riad so didn't expect the room layout to be as it was e.g no large windows/balcony however the dark room meant the best nights sleep for both of us. It was spotless and so authentic.
We're converted.Very good – Eirini from Greece – 7 March 2025 (8/10)

It became our home during our stay in Marrakech. We enjoyed it very much. The location, breakfast, staff and cleanliness were great.
What could be improved: We were there at the end of December. It was really cold and the air conditioning was not sufficient for heating.Exceptional – Marian from Ireland – 31 December 2024 (10/10)
Family run accommodation, really nice people, try to help you and direct you if you’re first timer in Fes. Accomodation is great value for money, breakfast is just enough to kick start your day. I would definitely choose to book again if I come to to Fes again
What could be improved: Location, clean, beautiful decoration and family run business feelAmazing staff, location, facilities, food, value. I will only come here in the future. – Franco from United Kingdom – 5 December 2024 (10/10)
Mouhcine and his staff are the most amazing people I have met in my week in Morocco, during which I have changed 6 ryads.
Everything was just perfect, and from the very beginning, when the trusty taxi driver booked through Mouhcine took me from the airport to the ryad and refused any tip I realized that the focus was all on customer's satisfaction, not on profit: they helped me in any way, well beyond what they were expected to do.
The tagine dinner was the best of the whole trip.
Rooms are spacious, clean, quiet, very good value.
The location is in a very safe area, at a very short walking distance from the royal palace and the medina entrance. Very easy to find and reach.
What could be improved: Honestly, I can't think of anything which could be improved.
