The moment you step through that heavy wooden door (and I mean heavy, like proper old-school Moroccan craftsmanship), you’re hit with this incredible sense of calm that just washes over you. It’s one of those places where the courtyard actually makes you stop and just… breathe, you know? The tilework isn’t flashy Instagram-bait stuff – it’s subtle, intricate, the kind of detail work that makes you realize someone really cared about getting this right.

What I love about this place is how it sits in the medina without feeling like tourist theater. You’re a five-minute walk from the chaos of Jemaa el-Fnaa, but the location near Bab Yacout means you’re in this quieter pocket where actual Marrakchis live and work. The owner – and this matters more than you might think – clearly knows the neighborhood. They’ll point you toward the little bakery around the corner where locals actually buy their bread, not the tourist traps. The rooms themselves are spacious without being cavernous, and honestly, the beds are some of the most comfortable I’ve encountered in Morocco. The air conditioning actually works (not always a given in these old buildings), and the bathrooms manage to blend modern functionality with traditional design without looking like a theme park. I stayed during Ramadan once, and you could barely hear the call to prayer – the thick walls just absorb everything, which means you’ll sleep better than you expect to in the middle of a bustling city.

Here’s what really sold me though – the service feels genuine rather than performative. The staff aren’t hovering, but they’re incredibly knowledgeable about Marrakech in ways that go beyond the standard tourist recommendations. They’ll tell you which hammams locals prefer, or when the best time to visit the souks is if you actually want to buy something rather than just survive the experience. The breakfast is served on the rooftop terrace, and while everyone talks about rooftop views in Marrakech, this one actually delivers – you get glimpses of the Atlas Mountains on clear days, and the whole medina spread out below without feeling like you’re in a goldfish bowl. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself lingering over mint tea longer than planned, which in Morocco, is exactly the point.

  This place is a bit far from the main Medina area of Marrakech, and while the neighbourhood was quiet, it wasn’t particularly nice. It takes about 15 to 30 minutes on foot to reach the busy Medina. The room was very clean and beautifully decorated, and the hosts were incredibly friendly and full of hospitality. I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing stay with a lovely, typical Moroccan breakfast that varied slightly each day.

  Everything was perfect! Loved the Riad, clean and spacious room. Furthermore, it is located in a quiet and peaceful area away from the tourist chaos. Ahmed and Sabri were amazing hosts always ready to help and answer to your questions/doubts. Breakfast was also so delicious and you must at least have one dinner at the Riad! Loved everything.   The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The terrace was lovely—a perfect spot to relax and take in the atmosphere. We didn’t expect the room to be cleaned every day, but it was—and it was done perfectly. The breakfast each morning was absolutely delicious. It was a truly warm and memorable experience.

  Good little place to stay not too far from all the sites and places of interest in Marrakech. It’s about 20 minutes walk to the Medina. The long road feels a bit never ending after a day of exploring though! We felt uneasy at first later at night but all the locals are friendly. No noise at night which is good. Decor is very nice and traditional. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and good clean bathroom. Fresh towels daily. Lovely upstairs terrace with some furry little friends. The hosts are wonderful, I would stay again and recommend to anyone staying in Marrakech.
  
  What could be improved: Breakfast was quite carb heavy, slightly different each day but just a lot of pastries and bread. More fruit and yogurt would have been nice, I’m sure we would have got this if we asked though. Rooms would benefit from a small fridge for keeping water in. Genuinely nothing else I didn’t like.

  The Riad Dar Tuscia is beautiful! After the hustle and bustle of a day in Marrakesh, it is the perfect place to return to to relax and recharge. The rooms are all individually decorated, very clean, and the beds are extremely comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful; nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel very welcome.

  Everything! Great communication with the owners, lovely warm reception. Clean comfortable rooms. Very pretty courtyard. Amazing breakfast. Simple but peaceful terrace.
  
  What could be improved: I honestly have no negative comment to make. It is a 15-20min walk to the main touristy areas but honestly for me this was no bad thing. It made the area quieter.
