Riad Dardeco privé centre Medina Overview
So I’ll be honest – finding Riad Dardeco privé centre Medina the first time was a bit of an adventure. You’re wandering down Derb Saka in the heart of the medina, and honestly, these narrow alleyways all start to look the same after a while. But once you actually locate number 86 (ask literally anyone nearby, they’ll point you in the right direction), you step through this unassuming door and it’s like entering a completely different world.
The thing about riads is they’re these hidden gems tucked away behind walls that give you zero indication of what’s inside. Dardeco is exactly that – the courtyard opens up with this gorgeous traditional tilework, and there’s something so satisfying about the sound of the fountain echoing off the walls. You know what really struck me? The smell. It’s this mix of cedar wood and something floral – maybe orange blossom? – that just makes you immediately relax. The staff here actually remembers your name, which sounds small but means everything when you’re navigating the chaos of Marrakech’s medina for the first time.
What I love about this place is how it manages to feel authentically Moroccan without being touristy. The rooms have these hand-painted ceilings and proper tadelakt walls (that’s the traditional lime plaster technique, in case you’re wondering), but they’ve also got modern touches like decent Wi-Fi and bathrooms that actually work well. The rooftop terrace is where you’ll probably spend your evenings – you can see the Koutoubia Mosque minaret from up there, and honestly, watching the sun set over the medina while sipping mint tea is pretty much peak Morocco experience.
I mean, let’s talk location for a second. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa, which is both a blessing and… well, it can get intense down there with all the snake charmers and food stalls. But being right in the medina means you’re also close to the souks, the Saadian Tombs, and you can easily walk to places like the Bahia Palace. The narrow streets do mean you’ll hear the call to prayer (five times a day, starting before dawn), but after a couple nights, it sort of becomes part of the rhythm.
The breakfast spread is actually really good – fresh bread, local honey, and they make this amazing Moroccan pancake situation that I’m still thinking about. One thing to note: like most riads, the rooms around the central courtyard can echo a bit, so if you’re a light sleeper, maybe mention that when booking. Also, getting luggage through those medina streets is… an experience. The riad can arrange for someone to meet you at the nearest car-accessible point, which honestly saved my back.
With a 9.2 rating, this place clearly knows what it’s doing. It’s got that perfect balance of being authentic and comfortable – you feel like you’re staying in a real Moroccan home, just one with really good hospitality and thread counts. If you want the full medina experience without sacrificing comfort, this is your spot.

What could be improved: Nothing.Super Riad bien placé et petit dej au top ! – Amélie from France – 23 April 2025 (10/10)
Riad super bien placé et très propre. Literie confortable. Espaces communs fantastiques, la terrasse en rooftop est géniale. Le petit déjeuner était délicieux et Hajiba qui nous les préparait est vraiment adorable et disponible.
What could be improved: Le wifi ne passe pas très bien dans les chambresGreat stay in the heart of the medina – Louise from United Kingdom – 6 April 2025 (9/10)
Fabulous location & layout – ideal for our small group. Great breakfast. Only dislike was having just one key for the property, it’s very restricting when you are a group of 5 wanting to do different activities
Ideal location for our first visit to Marrakech – Dara from Ireland – 22 February 2025 (9/10)
The riad was exactly as described with 3 double rooms, each with full ensuite facilities with a separate toilet room also.
Very central location, on a side alley just off the souks. Souks buzzing with activity but the riad was just far enough to not have any noise intrusion.
Breakfast was lovely, omelette, pancakes, bread and sweet breads as well as tea and coffee.
Riad was cleaned daily. The beds were comfortable and there was always hot water in the taps.
there was also a rooftop sun area with our own sunbeds and dining table. No shared facilities, all private to us.
WiFi was good and available throughout the Riad, including on the roof.
All in all, we would recommend staying here and would come back again.
What could be improved: N/ALovely private and comfortable Riad with lots of space – Brendan from Ireland – 20 January 2025 (10/10)
Every aspect of the Riad DarDeco experience was perfect for our family holiday. Lots of space, great comfort, quiet and private, The excellent breakfasts provided by Hajiba each morning deserve a special mention. Noura and Hafid were very easy to communicate with by text anytime that we had a question, as was Aurel. A great place to stay in the old Medina and I would strongly recommend it.
What could be improved: Everything was perfectFantastic, clean and comfy – Jonic from United Kingdom – 9 December 2024 (10/10)
This Riad is located perfectly in Médina. It’s a beautiful Riad, great size, interior, decor. Transportation from and to the airport was sorted. There was actually an nearby pickup point for activities we booked privately. The souk market is literally round the corner. The cook was so lovely and made delicious breakfast.
What could be improved: The WiFi connection could have been better. It’s goes weak and disconnects if you’re not using it on the second floor.Clean, friendly, professional, nice location, impressive architecture. – Sean from United Kingdom – 9 December 2024 (8/10)
Excellent location, very easy to arrange, good communication, lots of support with airport transfer and arrival, the staff were lovely, nice, well-designed house, very comfortable and pleasant.
What could be improved: The only issue we had was that the bread was stale for breakfast on one of three days, almost inedible.Exceptional – Nuno from Portugal – 7 November 2024 (10/10)
Super nice place, very well located, awesome decoration and space. Lovely lady came every morning to silently cook us an incredible breakfast. 3 levels, all bedrooms have in-suite bathrooms and great beds too.
Exceptional – Patricia from Germany – 7 October 2024 (10/10)
Everything was really nice and cosy, a modern Riad just for us. The owner and staff were super friendly and helpful. Location was perfect for a real Marrakech experience. I would highly recommend.
What could be improved: There is nothing to complain about.
