You know what surprised me about RIAD DOUIRTNA? I actually stumbled onto it while wandering around Gueliz – which, honestly, isn’t where you’d expect to find a traditional riad. Most people think you have to dive deep into the medina for that authentic Moroccan experience, but this place sits right on Rue Yougoslavie, and I mean that in the best possible way. It’s like finding this hidden gem where you get all the charm of a classic riad without the hassle of navigating those maze-like medina streets with your luggage.

The moment you step through that unassuming door (and trust me, you’ll walk past it twice before you find it), everything changes. The courtyard just opens up in front of you with that gorgeous central fountain and the kind of intricate tilework that makes you stop mid-conversation. I spent way too many mornings just sitting there with my coffee, listening to the fountain and watching the light shift across the walls. The rooms wrap around this central space in traditional riad style, and they’ve managed to keep all that authentic Moroccan architecture while actually making the wifi work properly – which, let’s be honest, is harder to find than you’d think in Marrakech.

What really sold me on this place was the location, though. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Avenue Mohammed V, where all the good restaurants and cafes are, but you’re also close enough to the medina that you can walk there when you’re feeling adventurous. The staff here actually knows the neighborhood – not just the tourist spots, but like, where to get your phone fixed or which little cafe has the best pastries. And parking? Well, it’s Marrakech, so street parking is always a bit of an adventure, but there’s usually something within a block or two. The whole Gueliz area is way more manageable than trying to navigate cars around the medina anyway. I honestly think this spot hits that sweet spot where you feel like you’re experiencing real Morocco without feeling completely overwhelmed by it. Plus, with an 8.9 rating, I’m clearly not the only one who thinks they’ve got something special going on here.

  The rooms are a good size and the bathroom was big and spacious , I felt really comfortable. The staff were also nice and check-in was easy. It’s located well as there are a variety of restaurants , convenience stores and restaurants around. Room was well-cleaned as well

  We loved this accommodation so much that we rebooked it for an extra night after our trip to the desert. To our surprise and delight we were given an upgrade and the room was even nicer than the first. The staff were really friendly, and if you’re worried about the heat the air conditioner is great. Lovely place, handy location, great value for money. Highly recommend.

  We loved this property. It was really clean and comfortable, the shower was the best we’d had during our month in Morocco. The property was easy to find and located within walking distance of restaurants, shopping and for us it was an easy walk to the souk. The staff were really friendly and the breakfast was generous and delicious. We loved our stay so much that we rebooked after our desert adventure.

  We had an incredible experience at Riad Douirtna. The location is ideal – right in the heart of the New Town, but still just a short ride away from the Old Town. It’s peaceful, safe, and surrounded by great cafés and local spots. The price-quality ratio is excellent. The room was very clean, beautifully decorated in Moroccan style, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
  
  Every morning, we enjoyed a delicious traditional breakfast – fresh bread, olives, fruits, eggs, and amazing Moroccan tea. A perfect way to start the day.
  
  But what really made our stay special was the amazing service. Everyone was kind and helpful, and we especially want to thank Willy, who went above and beyond to assist us with everything – from local tips to organizing trips and activities. Thanks to him, everything was smooth and enjoyable.
  
  Highly recommended if you’re looking for comfort, style, and authentic hospitality in Marrakech!

  This Riad was a perfect place in Marrakech of our mini honey moon. The manager/owner was super helpful and his hospitality was top notch. When we arrived he arranged airport pick up and the suite was decorated romantically with flowers and rose leaves everywhere. Love swan towels on the bed, just beautiful. A perfect warm welcome. It’s a nice Riad not far from the airport and near enough to main sightseeing attractions. We were only there for four days, but they made sure we had a comfortable stay. Even organized a roof top dinner on the day we arrived. There on the roof top we had a very nice breakfast everyday. If you wanted something, they made sure to get it for you. The manager arranged trips for us with a private chauffeur to the Agafay desert, with camel ride, quad ride, pool time, dinner and fire show. Very cool. Another day he arranged a trip to the mountains, see a waterfall, lunch at a river and meet Berber craftsmen. The manager and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice rooms with airco, which you appreciate when it’s really hot outside.
  In short we recommend this place. Good price quality balance. Thank you for making us feel welcome and comfortable.
