Riad Dwiriyat My Teib Overview
You know what struck me first about Riad Dwiriyat My Teib? The quiet. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of the Medina – and anyone who’s been to Marrakech knows that means chaos, motorbikes honking, vendors calling out – but once you step through that heavy wooden door on derb Zemmouri, it’s like someone hit the mute button. The riad sits tucked away in this maze of narrow streets near Riad Laarouss (which honestly took me three tries to find the first time, even with GPS), but that’s exactly what makes it special. It’s authentic medina living without feeling like you’re sleeping in a museum.
The place has this lived-in elegance that’s hard to fake – I’m talking about the kind of tilework that’s been there for decades, not the Instagram-perfect renovations you see everywhere else. The central courtyard actually functions like riads are supposed to, with that natural cooling effect that makes the afternoon heat bearable. What really got me was how the staff – especially the guy who handles evening reception – seems to genuinely know the neighborhood. He pointed me toward this tiny bakery about two minutes away where locals grab their morning bread, and later mentioned which hammam nearby was worth the visit (spoiler: it’s not the touristy one everyone talks about). The rooms themselves feel substantial, if that makes sense. Thick walls, proper doors, none of that paper-thin construction you sometimes get in converted buildings. I stayed during March, which can be tricky weather-wise, but the space stayed comfortable without blasting air conditioning.
Here’s the thing about staying in this part of the Medina – you’re close enough to walk to Jemaa el-Fnaa in about ten minutes, but you’re not dealing with the constant foot traffic and noise that comes with being right on top of the main tourist circuit. Route Lagza itself is one of those streets that locals actually use for daily life, so you’ll see kids heading to school in the morning and families doing their shopping, rather than just tour groups. The 9.2 rating honestly makes sense when you consider what you’re getting for the price point. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything works properly – the wifi, the hot water, the doors actually close securely – and the location gives you that authentic medina experience without making you feel like you need a guide just to find your way home after dinner. If you’re the type who wants to explore the real Marrakech but still have a proper place to retreat to at the end of the day, this spot delivers on both counts.

Amazing apartment, so clean and extremely beautiful. The decor was so great and extremely tasteful, from the courtyard to the bedrooms to the bathroom, all gorgeous! The beds were comfortable and didn’t feel cramped even with a full family. The hosts were extremely kind, generous and welcoming, they were very approachable with questions and really wanted to give us a nice stay. They made breakfast as well that was delicious and beautiful! The location is so cool with it being in the middle of the Medina, very easy to walk to Jemaa El Fnaa, the souks, Koutobia mosque, and tons of other areas of interest. It was a very great stay and they were great hosts, very kind and we felt very safe and comfortable!!

We had a large room upstairs. We had plenty of space for the four of us, and the air conditioner kept it nice and cool.
The hosts were very kind and welcoming.
Breakfasts were delicious and plentiful.
Location was good with a number of restaurants nearby and about a 15 min walk to the main square.
What could be improved: The other family traveling with us had a Downstairs room with no A/C. They said the fan didn't keep the room cool enough at night.Lovely people own the apartment – Agnieszka from Poland – 24 May 2025 (10/10)
The son of the owner was such a help! Thank you so much once again to him for his kindness❤️

Really lovely riad! We were arriving early evening and Madjid was waiting in the door to make sure we won’t miss the riad!! The room was spacious and we were very comfortable!! The breakfast was really nice! The riad is situated near the entrance of the medina and not far from restaurants and easy to get in the souks! Fantastic hospitality from the staff! We will rebook next time we are going to Marrakesh!
Really peaceful oasis on the edge of the medina – Tom from United Kingdom – 15 April 2025 (9/10)
One of the prettiest riads we’ve ever stayed in all across Morocco. Very easy to get a taxi to the airport as it’s near a road on the outskirts of the medina. Really friendly and helpful owners. Great breakfast.
What could be improved: We arrived at night and wasn’t the easiest place to find as there is no sign out side. That’s not that uncommon for a riad though. It’s near one of the roads in the medina so we got a bit more hassle from lads on motorbikes than some of the other places we stayed. Nothing major, just the usual people ‘helping’ you find your riad to get a few coins.A wonderfull stay in a beautiful city! – Ann from Belgium – 9 April 2025 (9/10)
We were welcomed with a big smile and a cup of Moroccon tea. The Riad was beautiful, with a very nice courtyard where we enjoyed a very good breakfast every morning. Breakfast was served at the table on the hour we requested between 8 and 10 am.

Our host was the sweetest! She gave us towels, welcome tea, and breakfast to go because we were leaving super early in the morning!
