Riad Emberiza Sahari Overview
First Impressions
Walking through the narrow alleyways of Zaouia El Abbassia to find Riad Emberiza Sahari feels like a treasure hunt — and honestly, that’s part of the charm. You’ll wind through the medina’s maze-like streets until you reach this hidden gem on Derb Khoshba, where a traditional wooden door opens to reveal something quite special. The riad has that authentic Moroccan feel you’re probably hoping for, but without feeling like a tourist trap. I mean, with a 9.6 rating, they’re clearly doing something right.
Location & Neighborhood
The location is actually phenomenal — you’re right in the heart of the medina, which means you can walk to Jemaa el-Fnaa square and the souks without dealing with taxis or getting completely lost (well, maybe just a little lost, but that’s half the fun). What I love about this spot is that it’s tucked away enough to feel peaceful, yet you’re still surrounded by the real Marrakech. Couples seem to get this — they’ve rated the location 9.0, and I can see why. There’s something romantic about navigating those ancient streets together, then retreating to your own private oasis.
The Riad Experience
Riad Emberiza Sahari captures that traditional Moroccan architecture beautifully — you know, the kind with a central courtyard that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into another world. The rooms wrap around this peaceful center, and there’s this lovely sense of being completely removed from the bustling medina just outside the walls. What strikes me most is how they’ve maintained the authentic character while ensuring modern comfort. The staff genuinely seems to care about your experience, which makes all the difference when you’re navigating a new culture and city.
Breakfast & Dining
The breakfast situation here is actually impressive — they’ve got options for pretty much everyone. Continental, vegetarian, halal, gluten-free, even American-style if you’re craving something familiar. They’ll even pack it to go if you want to start your day exploring early (which I’d recommend, honestly — the medina is magical in the morning before the crowds arrive). Having these dietary options available shows they understand that travelers come with different needs, and it’s refreshing not to have to explain or negotiate your breakfast preferences.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it balances authenticity with comfort — you get the genuine riad experience without sacrificing the amenities that make a trip enjoyable. The 9.2 location score speaks volumes, but it’s more than just being centrally located. You’re staying in a place that feels connected to Marrakech’s history and culture, where the evening call to prayer drifts over the courtyard and you can hear the gentle sounds of daily life in the medina. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re truly experiencing Morocco, not just visiting it.
Exploring Marrakech layers storytellers in Jemaa el-Fnaa, palm grove golf, and medina rooftops glowing at sunset.

Reviews of Riad Emberiza Sahari
An oasis in the middle of the Medina, with the sweetest staff and most beautiful property. – Aaqib from Canada – 27 June 2025 (10/10)
Beautiful pool, incredibly helpful and friendly staff, amazing breakfast and food. Our favourite place to stay in Marrakesh.
What could be improved: Nothing, it was perfect!Incredible stay at the most beautiful and green riad – Monica from Romania – 15 June 2025 (10/10)
Though the trip to it was a bit intimidating, once we’ve arrived, I felt very relaxed and happy. The staff were super welcoming and the riad itself is incredibly beautiful with many spots for hanging out and resting (in shade, away from the heat)
What could be improved: The streets in all of Marrakesh are a bit intimidating at times, but once we got used to it, it was fineExceptional – Saba from United Kingdom – 28 May 2025 (10/10)
This riad is the most beautiful place and we are so happy that we stayed here during our time in Marrakesh! The staff were amazing and we loved coming back here to the peace and quiet from a busy day in the medina – if you’re thinking of booking just do it! You will not regret it x
Amazing stay. Would recommend – Maria from United Kingdom – 20 May 2025 (10/10)

Fantastic place – brilliant location, beautiful, calm, spotless room, pool area and roof terrace. Delicious food – both breakfast and dinner. The stand out was the wonderful staff. Yunnis, Ibrahim and team provided a lovely welcome, great advice and we felt very well cared throughout our visit – true Moroccan hospitality.

I normally have no tendency towards sentimental exaggeration. But when I was sitting (having breakfast) under the fragrant orange tree in awesome Riad Emberiza Sahari, taking in the atmosphere, looking at the potted palmtree and the gorgeous white curtains, both swaying gently in the wind – I was believing that I was in heaven!
Having travelled the world and stayed at the most marvellous accomodations I am now convinced that Riad Emberiza Sahari is in a class of its own. I have never experienced a warmer welcome. All the staff are just lovely.
My room was not only very beautiful, tasteful and comfy, it gave me a feeling like it wanted to embrace me and gently rock me to the best sleep EVER at night. The furniture, the cosy bathroom with the fragrant shower gel, the cute white poufs, the fabulous lamps, the superb decoration…. I loved everything!
Breakfast was splendid, its quality way above usual Moroccan breakfasts, and all my other breakfasts on my Morocco trips already were fantastic! When I told the lovely guy that THIS crêpe had been the best I had ever eaten, he came back in no time with the most affectionate smile to serve me a second crêpe! And this was only one of the many wonderful moments at the Riad.
As I have been to Marrakesh several times it was not really my intention to visit again, I assumed. But when, after checkout, I asked if I could stay for 10 more minutes or so on the roof terrace and was told I could stay for ten hours or so I had already been sure for quite some time that I would visit Marrakesh again – simply to stay at Riad Emberiza Sahari again! A huge thank you and many hugs to all the lovely people working there for the happiness of their guests!
What could be improved: Nothing, everything is just perfect!1000% would recommend and will 1000% be going back – Aliénor from Switzerland – 1 May 2025 (10/10)
Amazing personnel, the staff was so attentive and nice. The cook is amazing too, she makes the best food.
Beautiful riad in a busy city that makes you feel welcome – Shalini from United Kingdom – 28 April 2025 (10/10)
Everything. From the minute you enter. The ambience and hospitality makes you feel relaxed and happy. The hosts treat you like guests. The rooms are super comfortable and bright and airy.
What could be improved: The distance is slightly away from the square and main souks but sometimes you have to walk along a busy road to get back
