Riad Ghali Hotel & SPA Overview
You know what struck me first about Riad Ghali? The moment you step off that narrow medina street—and I mean narrow, like two people can barely pass each other—you’re hit with this incredible sense of calm. It’s tucked away on Rue Moulay Taieb Ghali, which honestly I had to ask three different locals to find (GPS is pretty useless once you’re deep in the medina maze), but that’s exactly what makes it special. The whole El Lakssour area feels authentically Marrakech, not touristy at all.
The riad itself is one of those places where you can tell someone actually cares about the details. The spa—and I’m usually skeptical about hotel spas—actually uses proper argan oil treatments, not the watered-down stuff you get at bigger hotels. I spent a good hour there after wandering around the souks all morning, and honestly, my feet have never forgiven me for all the walking I do in other cities since then. The staff there knows their stuff too, they’ll suggest the right treatment based on whether you’ve been hiking in the Atlas Mountains or just dealing with medina cobblestones all day. The courtyard has this beautiful fountain that’s not just for show—you can actually hear it from most rooms, which is surprisingly soothing when you’re trying to block out the call to prayer at 5 AM (though honestly, after a couple days you start to love that too).
What really sets this place apart is how it sits right in the heart of the medina but manages to feel like a peaceful retreat. You’re maybe a ten-minute walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa—close enough that you can pop over for dinner or the evening show, but far enough that you’re not dealing with the crowds and noise when you want to relax. The rooms have that traditional Moroccan feel without being over-the-top touristy about it, and the beds are actually comfortable (I’ve stayed in riads where you feel like you’re sleeping on a decorative cushion). The rooftop terrace gives you those classic medina views everyone talks about, but it’s also perfect for morning coffee before the day gets too hot. Check-in was smooth too—they had someone meet us at the nearest point cars can reach, which saved us from dragging luggage through those winding alleys. That 8.5 rating makes sense when you experience the whole package, and for a 4-star in this location, the value is pretty solid.

Breakfast was delicious, served on the rooftop. Riad is close to main square, but not easy to find through the alleys of the souk.

Our recent stay at Riad Ghali in Morocco was magical. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and genuine smiles that made us feel instantly at home. The riad itself was stunning—authentic Moroccan architecture with intricate tilework, lush courtyards, and a rooftop terrace . Each room was clean, beautifully decorated, and comfortable for our entire family. What truly stood out was the personalized service. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay special, helping us arrange tours, recommending hidden local gems, and even accommodating our kids with thoughtful touches. I highly recommend this riad to anyone visiting Morocco—especially families looking for a unique and welcoming place to stay. We can’t wait to return!

Great Riad in a very central location. Quiet but very nearby to the main square and the souks. Staff were very helpful in providing us with recommendations and even printed our boarding passes off for us which was very helpful. Breakfast was also great on the rooftop. Would definitely stay here again.

The rooms were very authentic, they made us feel the real moroccan experience. The breakfast at the rooftop was the best. The food were freshly made for you and the view was just amazing. The staff are very friendly and welcoming too. The location was perfect! You are inside the medina but not as crowded and noisy. Highly recommended!
