Riad Haloma 90m2 in der Medina mit Terrasse Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Riad Haloma? Walking through those narrow derb streets in the Medina, dodging motorbikes and following the slightly confusing directions, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect. But then you step through this unassuming wooden door on Derb Snane and – wow. The space just opens up in that magical way riads do, with this gorgeous central courtyard that feels like a secret garden right in the heart of all that Medina chaos.
The 90 square meters might not sound huge, but it’s laid out so thoughtfully that it never feels cramped. I mean, you’ve got proper separation between the living areas and bedroom, plus that incredible rooftop terrace that’s basically your private escape above the medina rooftops. Honestly, I spent most mornings up there with mint tea, watching the city wake up – you can see the Atlas Mountains on clear days, and the call to prayer echoing from the Koutoubia minaret is something else entirely. The place has this authentic feel without being rough around the edges, if that makes sense. The traditional tadelakt walls and carved details are beautiful, but you’re not sacrificing modern comfort. The shower actually has decent pressure (which, let’s be real, isn’t always a given in old riads), and the Wi-Fi works throughout.
Location-wise, you’re deep enough in the medina to feel properly immersed – the souks are maybe a ten-minute walk through the winding alleys, and you’re close enough to Jemaa el-Fnaa that you can wander over for the evening food stalls without it being a major expedition. But here’s the thing locals know: Derb Snane is actually pretty quiet at night, tucked away from the main tourist routes. Sure, you’ll hear the occasional motorcycle echoing through the narrow streets, but it’s not the constant hustle you get closer to the main squares. The riad owner clearly knows the neighborhood well – they’ll point you toward the good hammam nearby (skip the touristy ones) and the little café where you can get proper Moroccan breakfast for a fraction of what you’d pay in Gueliz. That 8.4 rating feels about right, actually. It’s not perfect – the stairs to the terrace are a bit steep, and finding the place the first time can be an adventure – but there’s something genuinely special about staying somewhere that feels like a real Moroccan home rather than a hotel trying to look Moroccan. Plus, having your own terrace in the medina at this price point? That’s honestly pretty rare these days.

Reviews of Riad Haloma 90m2 in der Medina mit Terrasse
Superb – T from Netherlands – 20 May 2025 (9/10)
mooie ruime riad.
Very good – Mausam from United Kingdom – 13 May 2025 (8/10)
Great Location right in the Souk/Medina – Marco from Switzerland – 21 April 2025 (9/10)
What could be improved: Das Bad beim Eingang ist doch sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig und grenzwertig.
Superb – Fernando from Spain – 10 February 2025 (9/10)
– Charlotte from France – 6 January 2025 (8/10)
Exceptional – Abhiroop from Italy – 27 December 2024 (10/10)
