Look, I’ve stayed in quite a few riads around Marrakech, and honestly, Riad JONCHÈRES caught me completely off guard. You know that moment when you’re wandering through the narrow alleys of Riad Zitoun Jdid – dodging the occasional motorbike and following your GPS that’s probably lost signal – and then you step through what looks like just another heavy wooden door? That’s exactly what happened here, and suddenly I’m standing in this gorgeous traditional courtyard that feels like someone’s elegant family home rather than a hotel.

The thing about this particular stretch of the medina is that it’s actually quieter than some of the more touristy areas near Jemaa el-Fnaa, but you’re still close enough to walk to the main square in about ten minutes (though honestly, getting there through the maze of souks is half the adventure). What really struck me about JONCHÈRES was how they’ve managed to keep that authentic riad feeling – you know, the central courtyard with the fountain, the intricate tilework, the scent of orange blossoms mixing with tagine spices from somewhere nearby. The staff here actually live and breathe hospitality in that genuine Moroccan way, not the scripted hotel smile you sometimes get. I mean, the owner – or maybe it was the manager, I’m not entirely sure – sat with me for mint tea on my first evening and gave me directions to this tiny bakery around the corner that I never would have found otherwise.

The rooms themselves are what you’d expect from a proper 4-star riad, but it’s the little details that matter. The beds are actually comfortable (not always a given in traditional riads, to be honest), the bathrooms have proper water pressure, and – this might sound silly – but the Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building, which isn’t something you can take for granted in these thick-walled medieval buildings. I stayed during shoulder season in November, and the courtyard was perfect for morning coffee, though I imagine it gets pretty busy during peak tourist months. One thing to note: like most riads in the medina, you’ll need to walk the last bit since cars can’t navigate these ancient streets, but the location is easy enough to find once you get your bearings. The whole experience feels authentic without being rustic, comfortable without losing that sense of place that makes Marrakech special. If you’re looking for a riad that captures what staying in the medina should feel like – that perfect balance of adventure and comfort – this place absolutely delivers.

  Un merveilleux séjour dans ce Riad d’exception ! Dès notre arrivée à l’aéroport, tout était parfaitement orchestré grâce à un transfert sans faille qui nous a permis de commencer notre voyage en toute sérénité. Une fois sur place, nous avons été charmés par la beauté du lieu : une décoration raffinée, authentique et pleine de charme. Chaque matin, le petit-déjeuner était un vrai plaisir : généreux, varié et savoureux. Nous avons également eu le bonheur de dîner à plusieurs reprises sur place, et chaque repas fut un délice, mettant à l’honneur des produits frais et des saveurs locales. Un immense merci à Sana, dont la gentillesse, le sourire et la disponibilité ont marqué notre séjour. Nous recommandons ce Riad sans la moindre hésitation et espérons y revenir très prochainement !

  Un séjour juste incroyable ! Dès l’aéroport, tout était fluide et super bien organisé. Le Riad est un petit paradis : chaque détail est soigné, l’ambiance est magique. Gros coup de cœur pour les petits-déjeuners ultra gourmands et les repas maison qui étaient un vrai festival de saveurs ! Une équipe adorable, aux petits soins. Impossible de rêver mieux : on repart avec des souvenirs merveilleux et déjà l’envie de revenir ! Merci pour tout !

  Un souvenir inoubliable dans ce Riad de rêve ! Dès notre arrivée à l'aéroport tout était traitement organisé avec un transfert rapide et agréable. Le Riad est encore plus magnifique en vrai : une décoration sublime, une atmosphère paisible et un accueil incroyablement chaleureux. Chaque matin, nous avons eu droit à un petit-déjeuner délicieux, varié et ultra copieux. Un vrai bonheur pour bien commencer la journée. Les repas du soir étaient tout simplement exquis, préparés avec des produits frais et beaucoup d'amour. Toute l'équipe a été aux petits soins pour nous, toujours souriante et disponible. Nous repartons avec des étoiles plein les yeux et une seule envie : revenir très vite ! Un immense merci pour cette expérience exceptionnelle !
