Riad Laith Overview

You know what? I was honestly a bit skeptical when I first turned down Derb Ouayhah – it’s this narrow little alley in the Sidi Abdelaziz part of the medina, and I mean narrow. You’re basically following GPS through what feels like someone’s private walkway until you hit number 34. But then you step through those heavy wooden doors at Riad Laith and it’s like… well, it’s one of those moments where you actually get why people rave about Marrakech riads.

The whole place revolves around this gorgeous central courtyard – traditional setup, but they’ve really nailed the details. The tilework is stunning (and I’m usually pretty whatever about decorative stuff), and there’s this fountain that’s actually soothing instead of annoying, which is rarer than you’d think. What I loved most was how quiet it gets once you’re inside, especially considering you’re maybe a ten-minute walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa. The walls are thick enough that you barely hear the medina chaos, though honestly, the call to prayer from the nearby mosque is pretty beautiful if you’re into that sort of thing. The rooftop terrace is where you’ll probably spend your evenings – incredible views of the Atlas Mountains on clear days, and the staff will bring up mint tea without you even asking most of the time.

Here’s what actually matters for your stay: the rooms are genuinely comfortable, not just Instagram-pretty. Good air conditioning (crucial in summer), and the beds are actually decent – I slept really well, which doesn’t always happen in boutique places. The hammam on-site is small but legit, and honestly worth doing if you’ve never experienced a proper one. Getting there is the only real challenge – taxis can’t reach the door, so you’ll be walking the last bit with your luggage, but the staff will meet you at the main road if you call ahead. The 9.4 rating makes total sense when you factor in how genuinely helpful everyone is. They arranged our day trips to the Atlas Mountains and gave us restaurant recommendations that were actually good, not just places that give them kickbacks. It’s pricier than some medina options, but you’re paying for that combination of authentic atmosphere and actual comfort – plus being tucked away enough to feel special without being so remote that you need a guide to find your way back after dinner.

Reviews of Riad Laith

  • Lovely accommodation – Corina from Germany – 21 May 2025 (10/10)

We liked the most our hosts, the cleanliness, the beautiful terrace, the breakfast, and the comfortable bed. Is easy to reach to the Riad and is a nice experience to have. We were very well received, and we totally recommend it. ❤️
The rooms have air conditioning and ventilation, although we didn't really need it in may.

What could be improved: The light in the bathroom was quite dimmery (low light). Probably a cold instead of warm light bulbs would be better, at least in the bathroom (at least in the red room, others I don't know). Is just a suggestion/preference, not necessarily a negative point. 😊

  • Lovely stay at Riad Laith where Nora and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Excellent traditional Moroccan breakfa – Stephen from United Kingdom – 17 May 2025 (10/10)

Beautiful Riad in a great location

What could be improved: Nothing, it was all good

  • This Riad is gem! Very warm and cosy. – Jimmy from Canada – 18 April 2025 (10/10)

Their welcoming is absolutely amazing and they provided me so much details on where to eat , visit and what to avoid…this is so helpful and saving time!

  • Lovely stay – Harumiw from United Kingdom – 7 April 2025 (9/10)

Good location, beautiful traditional setup and excellent service.

What could be improved: The room was a little too dark. Also being on the ground floor we felt a little bit exposed, but it was quiet so we did not have any issues sleeping at night.

  • Very good – Max from United Kingdom – 6 April 2025 (8/10)

Staff excellent, very friendly, and helpful. Room very clean. Bathroom a little small and could do with better lighting. Overall, stay very enjoyable.

  • Delightful stay in Marrakech – Andreia from Ireland – 10 March 2025 (10/10)

I had the pleasure of staying at Riad Laith, and I can honestly say it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warmth and kindness. The staff made me feel right at home and went out of their way to ensure I had everything I needed during my stay.

The breakfast was absolutely delightful! It was fresh, flavorful, and the perfect start to my day. The food offered was fantastic, and I looked forward to it every morning.

The location of Riad Laith couldn’t have been better. It’s tucked away in a quiet, charming area, yet close enough to explore the vibrant heart of the city. I was able to easily walk to all the must-see spots, and the peaceful atmosphere of the riad provided the perfect retreat after a busy day of sightseeing.

Overall, Riad Laith exceeded all my expectations. The friendly staff, delicious breakfast, and prime location all made for a wonderful stay. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

What could be improved: There could be a stronger light source in the bathroom.

  • Exceptional – Stephanie from United Kingdom – 6 March 2025 (10/10)

The staff were kind, gentle and always happy to help. The breakfast was more than you could eat and the roof garden was place of calm after negotiating the chaotic souks.

What could be improved: I was hoping to enjoy the pool, but it is only deep enough to sit in – it's my expectations that were at fault and not the pool, which was clean and beautiful.

  • I like to thanks for the manager and the crew ( cleaning lady’s) for the hospitality and amazing service! – Emily from United States – 6 March 2025 (10/10)

Very nice place, we have a great time, feels like a home ,the crew are friendly and welcoming to us! I highly recommend!

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Very good – Elena from Netherlands – 25 February 2025 (8/10)

The Riad is beautiful and very well decorated, but I think the biggest highlight is Nora and her stuff. They have all been professional, kind, and very helpful to organize anything we needed

  • Fantastic Riad, perfectly located with friendly team to welcome you! – Jerome from United Kingdom – 13 February 2025 (10/10)

The Riad is exceptionally well located, right in the heart of the Medina. Another amazing feature is the location of a currency exchange service just around the corner with good rates, so it's super convenient.
As for the Riad, it is really great! the team welcoming you is attentive and caring, you feel at home and they are more than happy to go above and beyond to make your stay as pleasant as possible. They provide you with a wealth of information about Marrakech and the things to do/explore, so you'll have a great time!
The rooms are super clean, the water runs hot in the shower and you will feel at home. The breakfast was copious and delicious, and will honestly satiate you for a long while.
The wifi works perfectly well in the room so if you need internet, that is another thing going for you.
Honestly, it's the perfect place, so book without worries, it's amazing!!
