Riad LALLA JIHANE Overview
First Impressions
Walking through the narrow lanes of the medina to find Riad LALLA JIHANE feels like a proper treasure hunt — and honestly, that’s half the charm. You know you’re getting close when the maze of derbs starts feeling more residential, less touristy. The entrance is understated in that classic riad way, but step inside and there’s this immediate sense of calm that hits you. It’s one of those places where the chaos of Marrakech‘s streets just melts away the moment you cross the threshold.
Location & Neighborhood
The location is actually brilliant if you want to experience the real medina without being right in the thick of the Jemaa el-Fnaa madness. You’re deep enough in the Issebtiynne area to feel authentically Marrakchi — I mean, you’ll hear the call to prayer from multiple mosques and catch glimpses of daily life that tourists rarely see. But you can still walk to the main souks in about ten minutes, which is perfect when you want to dive into the action. Couples seem to really get this balance — there’s something romantic about having your own little corner of this ancient city.
The Riad Experience
What strikes you about Riad LALLA JIHANE is how it manages to feel both intimate and spacious. The traditional architecture works exactly as it should — that central courtyard becomes your personal oasis where you can actually hear yourself think. The rooms have character without trying too hard, if that makes sense. You get the carved plasterwork and traditional touches, but it doesn’t feel like you’re sleeping in a museum. The staff here really know their stuff too — they’ll sort out your airport transfer, recommend the hammam that locals actually use, that kind of thing.
Breakfast & Dining
Breakfast is served in the courtyard when weather permits, and it’s one of those moments where you remember why you came to Morocco in the first place. The spread is properly Moroccan — fresh bread, local honey, olives, and mint tea that’s actually made right. Everything’s halal, which is reassuring if that matters to you. What I appreciated is that they don’t try to cater to every international taste — this is Moroccan breakfast done well, not some watered-down version for tourists.
Why Guests Love It
The 9.6 rating isn’t just numbers — you can feel why people rave about this place. It’s that rare combination of authentic atmosphere and genuine hospitality that’s getting harder to find in Marrakech these days. You’re not just staying in the medina, you’re actually living in it for a few days. The location gives you street cred with locals (they nod approvingly when you mention Derb Skaya), but you’re not sacrificing comfort for authenticity. Plus, there’s something special about returning each evening to your own little sanctuary after a day of navigating the beautiful chaos outside.
Hotels near me in Marrakech deliver desert camp transfers, cooking classes with dadas, and sunrise hot-air balloons.

The manager contacted me before we arrived which was a nice touch and gave advice on Marrakech. When you enter the riad it's like going to a peaceful oasis and you're greeted with Moroccan tea. The staff were very friendly and sweet, our room was very comfortable with great showers and we loved dipping in the pool. Rooftop area was nice for relaxing too.
What could be improved: NothingBeautiful riad in a good location! – Saira from United Kingdom – 11 June 2025 (9/10)
The Riad was in a good location and within walking distance from a lot of things in Marrakech. It’s very new and clean and the staff do their best to accommodate all your needs! Mehdi in particular was very helpful when we had some issues with our room on the first night and was able to resolve them quickly and efficiently despite the holiday
What could be improved: It would have been nice for the extra tax that needs to be paid to be advertised upfront rather than at check infelt very welcomed and taken care of – Tobias from Germany – 23 May 2025 (10/10)

Exceptional – Sunghee from South Korea – 16 May 2025 (10/10)
This riad is absolutely beautiful and is located about a 10-minute walk from the city center. I came down with a severe cold as soon as I arrived in Morocco, and since it was a Sunday, it was difficult to find an open pharmacy. However, all the staff were incredibly helpful in helping me look for medicine, and thanks to them, I was able to recover and enjoy the rest of my trip. Ikram also kindly helped us arrange a taxi from the Agafay Desert. We received so much help and leave with wonderful memories.
What could be improved: Everything was great, but if I had to point out one thing, the breakfast didn’t quite meet our expectations.Totally Worth it – Pedro from Portugal – 11 May 2025 (10/10)
Our stay in Lalla Jihane was wonderful. the Riad is well maintained, has beautiful doors and window frames and a lot of small details that make it a delight.

I had a wonderful stay at RIAD LALLA JIHANE. The hotel is clean, tidy, and beautifully decorated. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, and the dinner was absolutely delicious.
The staff — Ikram, Mehdi, and two housekeepers — were incredibly friendly, always smiling, greeting us warmly, and providing excellent service. They made us feel completely at home with their attentiveness and kind communication. They were always willing to assist with anything we needed and even gave us helpful advice for preparing our trip to Marrakech before we arrived.
The hotel’s taxi driver was also excellent — skilled, friendly, and a great conversationalist. Overall, it was a truly delightful experience. I highly recommend this riad to anyone visiting Marrakech!
