Riad Lauriers Blancs Overview
You know what really struck me about Riad Lauriers Blancs? The moment you duck through that unassuming door on Derb Sidi Messaoud, you’re suddenly in this gorgeous courtyard that feels like someone’s elegant family home – which, honestly, it probably was decades ago. The whole place has this authentic riad vibe without trying too hard, if that makes sense. I mean, you’re right in the thick of the medina here, so expect some street noise (especially if you’re not used to the call to prayer), but that’s part of the charm. The rooms have these beautiful traditional touches – carved plasterwork, gorgeous tiles – but they’ve actually updated things where it matters, like decent water pressure and air conditioning that works when you need it.
What I really appreciated was how the staff genuinely seemed to know the neighborhood. When I asked about getting to Jemaa el-Fnaa, they didn’t just point me in a direction – they walked me halfway there the first time and showed me the landmarks to watch for. That’s gold when you’re navigating those winding medina streets where everything looks similar until you get your bearings. The location is actually perfect for exploring on foot – you’re close enough to the main square to pop over for dinner, but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with constant tourist crowds right outside your door. I loved being able to slip down to Café Clock for lunch (maybe a 10-minute walk through the souks) or wander over to the Saadian Tombs without needing a taxi.
The breakfast situation deserves a mention too – they serve it up on the rooftop terrace, and honestly, starting your day with fresh bread and mint tea while looking out over the medina rooftops never gets old. Sure, it’s not fancy hotel buffet stuff, but it’s real and satisfying. One small thing that impressed me was how they handled the inevitable medina navigation confusion – they actually give you a little hand-drawn map with local landmarks, not just street names (because let’s be real, street signs in the medina are more like suggestions anyway). The whole place has this relaxed, lived-in feel that some of the flashier riads lack. With ratings consistently in the high 8s, they’re clearly doing something right, and after staying there, I get it – it’s that sweet spot between authentic character and actual comfort that’s harder to find than you’d think.

Reviews of Riad Lauriers Blancs
Wonderful stay in the prettiest riad – Megan from United Kingdom – 23 June 2025 (10/10)
The staff were so friendly, the breakfast was lovely and the riad was beautiful. Even better than we hoped.
What could be improved: Nothing, we loved everything.Exceptional – Hernández from Spain – 7 June 2025 (10/10)
Mohammed went over the top. Great service and the place is incredible! It’s like an immersion in an interior design magazine.
I think this is my favourite hotel in Morocco… – Chadmacks from Canada – 29 May 2025 (9/10)
You know when you step in a place and you don't notice all the little thoughtful details, but you feel them? This place is like that, uncovering delightful little details as you stay. Everything from an exquisitely designed lampshade over your little workspace to the unique colours in each room.
But the staff (and owners!) were all also uniquely kind. I arrived after 3500 kms of travel on my motorbike and had an enormous amount of fixes and logistics to handle and they accommodated me perfectly during my two stays. Also! Theres something really nice about being in the outskirts of the Medina. Easier to navigate (if you've got luggage) and a bit more of an authentic corner than the shopping mall atmosphere of some parts of the Medina.
Oh my god. Also a pool plunge in the blistering heat, followed by a hammam and massage appointment nearby, followed by a hot tub soak on the roof of this place. Blissssss
This is longest review ive ever posted…
What could be improved: At first I was annoyed I had to ring the bell to get in…especially when I came back at 11pm…but then i realized how much more at ease I felt inside with that kind of security. So this was a trick question. Made you read. I like the securityHighly Recommend – Winston from Hong Kong – 28 April 2025 (9/10)
It’s clean and hosts are great.
What could be improved: Location is right at the edge of the medina, just a bit of a distance to the center of the medina. However, it’s great for those who have luggages to haul. It’s close enough to an entrance gate.Highly recommended. – Kemi from United Kingdom – 15 April 2025 (9/10)
Owners and staff were all first class.
What could be improved: Loved everything.Exceptional – Nuriyya from Azerbaijan – 1 April 2025 (10/10)
