RIAD Le MINASDAM Overview

You know what really struck me about RIAD Le MINASDAM? The moment you step off that narrow Derb Hantata street in Lakssour, you’re suddenly in this completely different world. I mean, the contrast is honestly incredible – one second you’re navigating the chaos of the medina (and trust me, finding this place is a bit of an adventure the first time), and the next you’re in this peaceful courtyard that feels like someone’s elegant home rather than a hotel.

The thing about staying in the Lakssour area is that you’re really living like a local here. It’s not touristy at all – actually, I’d say it’s one of the more authentic parts of the medina where you’ll hear Arabic and Berber more than French or English. The riad itself has that perfect balance of traditional architecture with modern comfort that’s honestly hard to find. The rooms have these gorgeous tiled floors that feel cool under your feet (crucial during Marrakech summers), and the beds are actually comfortable, which – let’s be real – isn’t always a given in traditional riads. What I loved most was the rooftop terrace; you can see the minaret of the nearby mosque and catch glimpses of the Atlas Mountains on clear days, especially in the morning when the light hits just right.

The staff here genuinely knows the neighborhood, and I mean really knows it. They’ll tell you which bakery has the best khubz fresh out of the oven (it’s the one three streets over, not the obvious tourist spot), and they actually gave me directions to a hammam that locals use rather than the expensive tourist traps. The 8.6 rating makes complete sense – this place delivers on what it promises without any pretense. Honestly, the only minor thing is that the Wi-Fi can be spotty in some rooms (typical for thick medina walls), but you’re in Marrakech, so maybe that’s not the worst thing. The breakfast spread is generous without being overwhelming, and they serve it in the courtyard where you can actually hear the city waking up around you – the call to prayer, vendors starting their day, kids heading to school. It’s that authentic medina experience that people come to Morocco for, but with a comfortable bed to return to at night.

Reviews of RIAD Le MINASDAM

  • Great choice – Andrea from Italy – 15 June 2025 (10/10)

The facility is managed by a very kind guy, we had a great time.

  • Great stay , great value – Chutharat from Thailand – 14 February 2025 (10/10)

Very Friendly and Helpful staffs , Great Location just few steps to the Market square. Airport transfer is expensive than taxi but they provide luxury car which big enough for 4-5 persons with luggages

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Exceptional – Cäcilie from Germany – 2 February 2025 (10/10)

Perfect location, like a quiet island in the nosy Medina, with a nice yard to drink coffee, tea or to dine and with a very friendly and welcoming host. He takes his time to welcome and talk to you in a polite and cheerful manner, helps you with following transports and prints your boarding pass if necessary.

  • The perfect match in Marrakesh! – Jari from Finland – 30 January 2025 (10/10)

Tarik was a perfect host the better host can't be found nearly anywhere!!! Service was kind and he did everything to get a quest satisfied. The uttermost act was borrowing money because my credit card didn't worh in Morocco – AMAZING!!! The other guy (was Maruk, I'm not sure) was excellent as well. They both made overall feeling of kindness and warmth – like home!

Location was near everything, especially the big market square in spite of that the room was quiet.

The bed was just for me and it gave a very good sleep. Nights were cold and a heater was good.

Breakfast was good, especially the fresh orange juice was heavenly good as well as two suppers I took at the roof terrace.

This is the choice for you who doesn't want to stay in the sterile chain hotels, the reason why I selected this and didn't get disappounted!
    I really recommend!!!

What could be improved: The height of the bed was low and with (my) aching leg it was quite difficult to stand up – don't worry!

The hotel is not reachable by car. You have to walk 300 – 400 meters depending on location, where taxi leaves you. This was not a problem for me at all, burI just inform other quests not to be disappointed.

There was a building constuction in "home" street, but that was nor a hotel failure. Not noisy, but sometimes it was quite difficult to walk trough.

  • Nice place with lovely staff, close to main Quarter – Dee from United Kingdom – 10 December 2024 (9/10)

very helpful owner, nice room, absolutely amazing bathroom but.. if the window is not left open in the room for most of the time, you can feel dampness after all day. daily cleaning and filling up all needed toiletries.

distance to the main quarter- just in the middle of Medina. easy to reach any place for excursion pick ups.
    friendless of every staff member

Limited choice of breakfast but we were aware of the type of food served in Arabic countries in the morning. Not for fussy Britis expecting …'all day breakfast" with sausages, eggs, baked beans etc.😉🤪

What could be improved: downside: lady cleaning the room hasn't spotted that bedding required to be changed so we had same bedding not changed for all our stay.

  • Beautiful Riad set in a perfect location – April from United Kingdom – 25 June 2024 (10/10)

A beautiful Riad set in a perfect location, just around the corner from the souks, after a day of exploring was lovely to come back to this peaceful haven. Tarik and staff were amazing and very helpful. Our Riad was clean and spacious. I would definitely recommend and my family would love to stay here again.

  • Exceptional – Hafida from Italy – 1 June 2024 (10/10)

The property is like 5 minutes away from the Jamaa el fna, its safe to walk back during late night. The rooms have a nice traditional moroccan touch and are very clean, the lady cleans the room everyday with clean towels.
The riad its really cute with the jardin and the terrace where you can have breakfast. Everyday the breakfast its different, and have a lot of option in terms of food and drinks.
The owner is professional and very helpful, as well the other guy who works there. They will try the best to make you happy and to solve any problems such as printing your boarding pass or taxi etc..

  • Great stay in Marrakesh. – Aleyda from Germany – 24 May 2024 (8/10)

Very clean, nice breakfast and friendly atmosphere.

What could be improved: It was unclear at what time we would get the breakfast. Next time just make sure you ask.

  • Superb – Sara from United Kingdom – 2 May 2024 (9/10)

    Great value for money

  • Lovely location in Marrakech – Faye from Canada – 23 April 2024 (10/10)

The location was excellent, my room spacious, clean and comfortable. The welcome was warm and all the staff were kind and friendly. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this Riad to anyone going to Marrakech.
