Riad Les Miroirs Overview

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Riad Les Miroirs, I wasn’t sure what to expect. You know how it is with these traditional riads tucked away in Marrakech’s medina, they can either be absolutely magical or… well, let’s just say not. But this one? It actually lives up to its name, and I mean that in the best way possible.

The location is what really got me first. It’s right there in the Kasbah district, which honestly feels like stepping back in time compared to the chaos of Jemaa el-Fnaa (though you’re still close enough to walk there in about ten minutes). The thing about derb Caid bouho – and this is something you won’t find in most guidebooks – is that it’s one of those narrow alleyways where locals actually live their daily lives. I’d wake up to the sound of kids playing in the morning, which was surprisingly charming rather than annoying. The riad itself sits perfectly positioned so you get that authentic neighborhood feel without being right in the thick of tourist central.

What really sets this place apart, though, is how they’ve managed to balance traditional Moroccan architecture with actual comfort. The courtyard has this incredible mosaic work – I spent way too much time just sitting there with my mint tea, watching how the light changed throughout the day. The mirrors they use in the décor (hence the name, obviously) create this almost dreamlike atmosphere, especially in the evening when everything’s lit up with those traditional lanterns. The rooms are spacious by medina standards, and honestly, the beds are way more comfortable than I expected. Air conditioning works perfectly too, which you’ll definitely appreciate if you’re visiting during summer – it gets seriously hot in Marrakech.

The staff here actually know their stuff about the city. When I asked about getting to the Majorelle Garden, they didn’t just point me toward an expensive taxi – they told me exactly which bus to take and where to catch it. Small things like that make a huge difference when you’re trying to navigate a new place. The breakfast spread is pretty solid too, though I’ll admit I ended up eating most of my meals out in the souks because, well, that’s half the fun of being in Marrakech.

One thing to keep in mind – and this goes for any riad in the medina – is that getting there with luggage can be a bit of an adventure. The alleyways aren’t exactly made for rolling suitcases, but the hotel can arrange for someone to meet you at the nearest accessible point. It’s worth the minor hassle though, because once you’re settled in, you really feel like you’re experiencing the real Marrakech rather than just visiting it. The 8.4 rating makes sense to me – it’s not perfect, but it’s genuinely special in ways that matter.

The host is extremely nice. The room was spacious enough. I enjoyed the breakfast too 😁

What could be improved: Not that I didn't like it, but the location can make some people slightly uncomfortable at first. The rubble on the streets etc makes it less attractive

  • Very good – David from United Kingdom – 18 November 2024 (8/10)

You advertise this with kettle and fridge and this was very important to us but we found out the rooms do not have kettle or fridge and this spoilt our stay.
You are missing selling and missing leading your customers.
    This is not acceptable

  • Super – Mattia from Netherlands – 10 November 2024 (9/10)

This Riad is more than recommended to everyone. Price/quality is super. Bed huge and comfortable. The included breakfast is super, but most of all our host Mohamed was so kind and helpful. He printed our boarding passes & woke up at 5am for us to book a taxi to go to the airport. Thank you Mohamed, I wish you all the best

  • peaceful place with soft touch – Jawad from Israel – 30 September 2024 (9/10)

the rooftop is simply beautiful, they have this small peaceful touch which gives you great quality time. the staff is just amazing! uncle Mohammed has great smile and welcoming. the breakfast was simple but amazingly delicious! the place is located is calm area so you can have the breakfast with calm atmosphere.

What could be improved: well, what I didn't like is not specific to this place, it turned out that almost all Riads rooms have no windows! and the shower has no doors or something to separate the shower and the rest of the shower room. but in general it was cool.

  • Superb – Adrian from Canada – 20 May 2024 (9/10)

The staff was very helpful and the riad location is excellent: close to Medina and the collection point to all excursions around Marrakesh.
