Riad Luciano Hotel and Spa Overview
You know what? I’ve stayed at a lot of riads in Marrakech, and Riad Luciano just gets it right in ways that are hard to explain until you’re actually there. It’s tucked away on Derb Tizougarine in the Dar el Bacha area – honestly, you’ll probably get lost trying to find it the first time (everyone does), but that’s part of the charm. The neighborhood is quieter than the main medina chaos, which means you can actually sleep at night without the constant motorbike horns and late-night street vendors. I mean, you’re still in the heart of everything – the Bahia Palace is maybe a 10-minute walk, and you can easily stroll to Jemaa el-Fnaa when you want that full sensory overload experience.
The building itself is this beautiful old merchant house that’s been restored with actual taste, not the over-the-top Instagram approach some places go for. The courtyard has that classic riad feel with the central fountain and orange trees, but there’s something more intimate about it – maybe it’s the way the light hits the zellige tiles in the afternoon, or how the staff remembers your mint tea preferences after day two. The spa is legitimately good too, which isn’t always a given at smaller places. They do this hammam treatment that actually felt authentic, not like a tourist show, and the massage therapist knew what she was doing. The whole experience left me feeling like I’d melted into the building’s ancient walls.
What really sold me on this place was the attention to details that matter when you’re actually living there for a few days. The WiFi works reliably (crucial if you’re trying to upload those rooftop sunset shots), the water pressure is decent, and – this is key – they help you navigate the medina without being pushy about it. The staff will point you toward the local hammam where residents go, or tell you which spice vendor won’t rip you off, that kind of thing. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace is pretty spectacular too, especially if you time it right before the city fully wakes up. You’re looking out over this maze of flat rooftops and minarets with the Atlas Mountains in the distance, and honestly, it’s one of those moments that makes you remember why you travel in the first place. The location means you’re close enough to dive into the medina madness whenever you want, but far enough from the main tourist drags that you feel like you’ve found something special. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to extend your stay, which – let’s be honest – is exactly what you want from a riad experience.

Reviews of Riad Luciano Hotel and Spa
Exceptional – Karin from United States – 17 June 2025 (10/10)
Beautiful property, excellent location, friendly and helpful staff.
What could be improved: Difficult to findExceptional – Hanoof from Saudi Arabia – 16 June 2025 (10/10)
The place is beautiful and truly feels like home — incredibly cozy and welcoming. Everyone is so kind and genuinely hospitable; they serve from the heart, and I really grew fond of them. It felt like our own home.
What could be improved: The only downside is that the hotel is located inside narrow alleyways, and cars can’t reach it directly — it’s about a 5-minute walk through the small streets. However, the staff kindly took care of everything and brought all our luggage themselves.
Overall, a lovely and heartwarming stay!Exceptional – Nour from Lebanon – 12 June 2025 (10/10)
Riad Luciano Hotel and Spa is a beautiful, well decorated Riad. The location is perfect. Located in a quiet area, in the heart of the old Medina. The room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. What made this Riad exceptional is the owner and the employees. The moment we checked in, Mrs. Laila, the owner, made sure all our needs were met. Although she wasn't present physically but we felt her presence through her attention and care. The employees were super welcoming and helpful. They did their best to ensure we had the best stay. Ismail was one of a kind. He always had a smile on his face and helped us with everything. The Chef, Mrs. Jamila was amazing as well. She cooks the most delicious food. Yasser, Mouhamad, Khaled, Ali and Mrs. Latifa were all kind and welcoming as well. We really felt like we were part of a bigger family. Cannot recommend Riad Luciano enough. Thank you to everyone who made our stay memorable. We will definitely be back.
The most relaxing and magical hotel experience! – Bosan from United States – 2 June 2025 (10/10)
This was truly the best experience I've had staying in a hotel. The staff was so welcoming and accommodating, and took care of our every need. The property is at a prime location, and is so clean. It truly felt like coming to a very welcoming home after being out all day. I cannot recommend this place enough!!!
What could be improved: NothingAbsolutely superb! – Laura from Ireland – 1 June 2025 (10/10)
The warm welcome, friendly staff ( including Ishmael, Ali and Mohommed), delicious breakfast and the beauty and tranquility of the Riad.
What could be improved: Nothing at all!Fabulous riad, great staff. Very helpful – Hooper from Switzerland – 31 May 2025 (10/10)
Good but a little too much. A self serve situation would undoubtedly cut down on waste
What could be improved: There was a mix up with our arrival pick up which left us waiting for over an hour. We phoned and also emailed our flight details, but something went wrong.. maybe better communication would have helped.Exceptional – Sigurlaug from Iceland – 29 May 2025 (10/10)
Staff was very helpful, made us feel welcome. Excellent placement in the medina.
Oasis in the medina – Maria from Greece – 25 May 2025 (9/10)
A beautifully decorated and quiet Riad, an oasis in the busy medina.
Really clean rooms with comfortable beds, big bathroom with every amenity.
Very professional, polite and helpful staff attending to your every need.
The location is really central reaching most of the main sites just on foot. Reaching the Riad requires to go through some dark alleys at night though, but we didn’t feel unsafe.
Amazing breakfast by the pool, fresh with lokal flavours and variety.
What could be improved: The hotel transfer service to the airport was disappointing and unprofessional.
As we gave the driver 400 dirham for an arranged price of price of 300 dirham, he refused to pay back 100dirham as he ‚didn’t have any money on him‘. As I insisted the tone of the conservation became insulting, inviting me to ‚search the car myself for money‘. Only when I made it very clear that him not having any change is his problem, and not mine, did he pay us back.
This type of behaviour does not belong to a 4 star hotel.
Lastly there is a construction site nearby, which can get a bit loud during the day.Stunning Road, pristine, peaceful, brilliantly located and wonderful staff. 5 ✨ – Gillian from United States – 25 May 2025 (10/10)
The Riad is stunningly beautiful and so peaceful. The staff are amazing, so kind, helpful and accommodating. The breakfast is fantastic. We absolutely loved our stay there and would recommend it to anyone visiting Marrakech.
