You know what surprised me most about Riad Magnolia&SPA? The fact that it manages to feel like a genuine traditional riad while actually being comfortable for Western travelers – and I mean that in the best way possible. Tucked away on Derb El Hammam (which translates to “bathroom street” if you’re curious), it’s one of those places where you’ll definitely get lost trying to find it the first time. The narrow alleyways in this part of the medina twist and turn like a maze, but honestly, that’s half the charm. Once you’re inside though, it’s like stepping into a different world – the typical riad courtyard with that gorgeous central fountain, but they’ve actually got the water pressure sorted out in the rooms, which, let me tell you, isn’t always a given in these historic buildings.

The spa element isn’t just thrown in as an afterthought either. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from the traditional hammams near Jemaa el-Fnaa, but sometimes after a long day of navigating the souks and dodging motorbikes, you just want to unwind without having to venture back out into the chaos. The staff here really knows their stuff – they’ll point you toward the quieter entrance to the spice market (there’s actually a back way that most tourists miss) and they’re honest about timing. Like, they’ll tell you to avoid the main square around sunset if you’re not into crowds, which I appreciated. The rooms themselves have that perfect balance of authentic tile work and modern comfort. Sure, you’ll hear the call to prayer five times a day, but the sound actually becomes pretty soothing after a while. What I didn’t expect was how peaceful it gets in the evenings – even though you’re right in the heart of everything, the thick walls really do block out most of the street noise.

Here’s the thing that really sold me on this place: the breakfast spread includes proper Moroccan pastries alongside the usual continental stuff, and they serve it in the courtyard where you can actually feel the temperature difference from the street. It’s probably ten degrees cooler, which matters when you’re dealing with Marrakech heat. The location is honestly perfect if you want to experience the real medina without being completely overwhelmed – you’re close enough to walk to everything that matters (the Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace, all the main souks), but far enough from the main tourist drag that you’re not constantly being hassled by vendors. Just be prepared for the fact that GPS is basically useless once you’re in the medina, so screenshot the walking directions or ask them to send someone to meet you at the nearest landmark. With a 9.1 rating, it’s clearly doing something right, and after staying there, I get why people keep coming back.

  The Riad was well.locted and close to.the city centre. We found our way around.very easily although you do need Google.maps the first day as all lanes look similar and can easily get lost.
  The breakfast at the Riad was so good and different everyday. Halim even made surenwe had breakfast before the scheduled time.when we had to leave early for our day trip and departure flight back home.
  Would definitely recommend a stay here.

  We had a wonderful 4-day stay at Riad Magnolia & SPA in Marrakech. The riad is beautifully designed, spotlessly clean, and offers a peaceful escape from the hustle of the medina. We especially enjoyed the hammam and relaxing couples massage—such a memorable experience. Marwan & Halim were the highlights of our stay: incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help. They truly made us feel at home. Highly recommended for a perfect Marrakech getaway!

  We had a fantastic stay at Riad Magnolia, Hamza was so helpful and friendly and gave us lots of local tips and even guided us through a souk to the madrasa. We arrived in two different groups and the riad organised two separate airport pickups for us… eventhough the service is more expensive than a normal taxi we would recommend do it as it is not possible to reach the riad all the way by car and if you haven't visited Marrakech before then the medina is very confusing. Breakfast was incredible with a big spread of different things including local dishes. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the shower was powerful with lots of hot water. One of our rooms had a problem with the light on the second night and the staff did all they could to fix it even when it was late at night. All the staff at the riad were happy and friendly, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend. Also go up to the rooftop to see a beautiful sunrise and sunset!
