You know what struck me first about Riad Medina Art & Suites? The fact that it’s tucked away on DB Boutouil street in a way that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something locals want to keep secret. I mean, you’re right in the heart of Kennaria quarter, but somehow it doesn’t feel touristy at all – which is honestly pretty rare for a place this close to the main medina action.

The whole setup is exactly what you’d hope for in a proper riad, with that gorgeous central courtyard that actually works as advertised. During the day, light filters down through the opening above and you can hear the city humming beyond the walls, but it’s muted in this really pleasant way. The suites themselves – well, they’ve clearly put thought into the details. The art they’ve chosen isn’t just generic Moroccan stuff you see everywhere; there’s this mix of traditional and contemporary pieces that actually complements the architecture instead of fighting with it. The rooms are spacious enough that you’re not tripping over your luggage, and honestly, the bathrooms are better than I expected for a four-star place. You get those thick towels and proper water pressure, which matters more than you think when you’ve been walking around dusty medina streets all day.

What really won me over was how the staff handles things – they’re helpful without being pushy, and they know the neighborhood well enough to point you toward the good local spots instead of just the obvious tourist traps. The rooftop terrace deserves a mention too, especially if you time it right for sunset (though honestly, most people figure that out pretty quickly). From up there, you can see across the medina rooftops and get a sense of how this whole maze of streets fits together. The location works in your favor because you’re close enough to walk to Jemaa el-Fnaa in about ten minutes, but far enough that you’re not dealing with the constant noise and crowds when you want to decompress. I stayed there during shoulder season and it felt perfectly busy – not empty, but not overrun either. The 8.4 rating makes sense to me; it’s the kind of place that does what it promises without trying to be something it’s not.

  What a beautiful Riad with a pool just in front of our room!
  The feeling was amazing, and the rooftop terrace looked very nice too.
  We only wished the showers to be more clean or maybe even updated. Otherwise we had a very good stay, and even got support from the staff at 4am to get to our airport shuttle safe through the dark streets of the Medina. Thank you!

  The inside is beautiful, staff is friendly, location is convenient, hotel well maintained &clean, it also feels safe and secure (once you are over your first surprise of the location). Bed comfortable!

  The place is like a museum. You will love it from the moment you enter the building. The rooms were clean and the stuff was really nice.
