Riad Miss Caracal Overview

Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of riads in Marrakech, and honestly, most of them blur together after a while – you know, the usual suspects with their predictable courtyards and touristy vibes. But Riad Miss Caracal? This place actually surprised me. It’s tucked away on Rue Touareg in the Kasbah neighborhood, which – if you’ve never been – is this maze of narrow streets that feels completely separate from the chaos of Jemaa el-Fnaa. I mean, you’re still in the heart of everything, but there’s something quieter about this corner of the medina, more authentic somehow.

The moment you step through those heavy wooden doors (and I swear, finding the entrance is half the adventure), you’re hit with this immediate sense of calm. The courtyard is stunning, sure, but it’s not trying too hard like some of the flashier places. There’s this gorgeous tiled fountain in the center, and the way the light filters down through the open roof in the late afternoon – honestly, it’s magical. The rooms wrap around this central space, and each one feels thoughtfully designed rather than cookie-cutter. I stayed in one of the upper-level rooms, and the view over the Kasbah rooftops was incredible, especially at sunset when everything turns golden. The bed was actually comfortable (not always a given in traditional riads), and the bathroom had this beautiful tadelakt plasterwork that felt smooth as silk.

What really sets this place apart though is the staff – they know the neighborhood inside and out. The guy at reception (I think his name was Youssef) gave me directions to this tiny local bakery just two streets over that I never would’ve found otherwise. And you know what? When I mentioned I was looking for a good hammam experience, he steered me away from the touristy spots and toward this local place where I was literally the only foreigner. The location is perfect if you want to explore the royal tombs and Bahia Palace on foot – both are maybe a ten-minute walk through these winding alleys that feel like stepping back in time. Parking isn’t really an issue since you can’t drive into the medina anyway, but the taxi drop-off point is close enough that you won’t be dragging your luggage for miles. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the Wi-Fi can be spotty in some rooms (typical for thick riad walls), but honestly, that might be a blessing in disguise. This isn’t the kind of place where you want to be glued to your phone anyway.

  • good rooms good staff and close to most touristy spots what more could you ask for 😍 – Walid from Morocco – 10 July 2025 (10/10)

    Good looking and instagramable

  • Exceptional – Dóra from Hungary – 6 July 2025 (10/10)

Everything was perfect. The riad is beautiful and spotlessly clean. We loved every detail. We got a very warm welcome by the staff, with moroccan tea at the beautiful rooftop. The area is very safe and quiet (compared with other part of the medina where we stayed this was far the best location). Special thanks to Youssef to answer all our questions and being so kind and helpful and for Meryam for the wonderful breakfast.

What could be improved: Everything was perfect.

  • Exceptional – Abubaker from United Kingdom – 4 July 2025 (10/10)

It's one of the best Riad I stayed in Morroco. Staff here is very friendly and is always available for any questions. Offered the morrocan tea on my arrival. Nice and clean. Medina is just 10 minutes away.
Good value for money. Definitely come back here. Highly recommend 😇

  • Exceptional – Oumaima from Canada – 1 July 2025 (10/10)

Staying at Riad Miss Caracal was wonderful, but what truly made our trip unforgettable were Meryem and Youssef. From the moment we arrived, their warmth, kindness, and genuine care made us feel not like guests, but like family.
Meryem is an absolute sweetheart, always smiling, always attentive, and truly one of the most gracious people we've ever met. She made sure every detail was perfect, from the delicious homemade breakfasts to helping us navigate the city with local advice we wouldn’t have found in any guidebook.
Youssef was equally incredible, kind, calm, and thoughtful, always making time to check in, answer questions, or simply offer a warm conversation that made us feel so welcome. Their combined presence turned a great trip into something truly special.
If you're lucky enough to stay here, you're not just getting a place to sleep. You're getting two of the kindest people in Marrakesh looking after you.

  • Pleasant stay – Weronika from Poland – 25 May 2025 (9/10)

Riad is in a good condition, modern and cozy. Youssef was very kind and attentive, he tried to help us as much as he could, including early morning breakfast. Room was good for 1 night.

What could be improved: If the room is on the ground floor, expect noise from the other guests.

  • Authentic Moroccan experience – katey from Portugal – 24 May 2025 (9/10)

Very warm, friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast on the terrace. Comfy bed. In good location.
