The 205 square meters thing isn’t just marketing fluff – this place actually breathes, you know? Most riads in the medina feel like beautiful jewelry boxes, but this one gives you room to properly unpack and spread out.

The terrace is where I spent most of my mornings, and honestly, it’s worth the stay just for that. You’re sitting there with your mint tea – the staff makes it perfectly, by the way – watching the Atlas Mountains peek through the morning haze while the medina slowly wakes up below. It’s not one of those tiny afterthought terraces either; you can actually set up camp there with a book and lose half the day. The rooms themselves have that authentic Moroccan charm without feeling like you’re sleeping in a museum. The tadelakt walls are cool to the touch (which you’ll appreciate during those hot afternoons), and the beds are actually comfortable – I mean, really comfortable, not just “good for Morocco” comfortable.

What really sealed it for me was how the staff treated the place. They genuinely seem to care about the details – fresh flowers that aren’t wilting, towels that smell like they were dried in actual sunlight, and they remember your name after day one. The location puts you right in the heart of everything without the chaos that comes with being too close to Jemaa el-Fnaa. You’re maybe a ten-minute walk to the main square, but far enough that you’re not dealing with the constant drum circles when you’re trying to sleep. Plus, you’re practically next door to some of the best little restaurants that tourists never find – the kind where locals actually eat and mint tea costs what it should cost. I stayed there during the shoulder season in March, and while the medina was busy during the day, the evenings were peaceful enough to enjoy dinner on the terrace. The 9.3 rating makes complete sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be the flashiest place in Marrakech, but it nails everything that actually matters when you’re traveling.

  El Riad se encuentra a 5 minutos andando de la plaza Jemaa el Fna, está muy limpio y muy bien decorado. Tiene 5 habitaciones, cada una con su baño con ducha y otro baño en el salón. Cocina, terraza… wifi con buena velocidad.
