Riad MS holidays terrasse privatisé Marrakech Overview
Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of riads in Marrakech, and honestly, most of them feel like they’re trying too hard to be Instagram-perfect. But Riad MS holidays terrasse privatisé – yeah, that’s a mouthful of a name – actually gets it right. The location on derb chourafa arset laghzail puts you deep enough in the medina to feel authentic without being so buried that you’ll need GPS breadcrumbs to find your way back from Jemaa el-Fnaa.
The whole “terrasse privatisé” thing isn’t just marketing speak either. When you climb up to that rooftop terrace (and you will climb – this is a traditional riad after all), you’ve got this incredible private space that looks out over the medina’s maze of rooftops. I mean, you can actually see the Atlas Mountains on clear days, which happens more often than you’d think. The staff here knows their stuff too – they’ll tell you the best times to hit the terrace for sunset without dealing with the usual tourist crowds that pack other hotel rooftops. What really sold me was how they handle the little details that matter. You know how some riads have gorgeous courtyards but terrible wifi? Or amazing breakfast spreads but ice-cold rooms? This place strikes that balance. The traditional architecture is there – the carved plasterwork, the fountain in the central courtyard, all that – but they’ve actually updated things where it counts. The rooms stay comfortable even during those sweltering summer afternoons, and the hot water works consistently (trust me, after a few cold showers in other places, you appreciate this).
The 8.3 rating makes sense when you experience it firsthand. It’s not perfect – the narrow alleyway means you’ll definitely hear the occasional motorbike or late-night conversation echoing off the walls, and like most places in the medina, finding it the first time can be an adventure. But the staff actually meets you at nearby landmarks if you’re lost, which happens to everyone. They’re also genuinely helpful about restaurant recommendations that go beyond the usual tourist traps. I discovered this incredible hole-in-the-wall couscous place just because the guy at reception mentioned it casually. The breakfast situation deserves a mention too – it’s served in that gorgeous courtyard, and they make proper Moroccan pancakes (msemen) fresh, not the reheated versions you get at bigger hotels. Plus, they’re flexible about timing, which matters when you’re dealing with jet lag or came back late from exploring the souks.
What I really appreciated was how the place feels authentically Moroccan without being a theme park version of it. The owners clearly live this culture rather than just decorating with it. You’ll hear the call to prayer from nearby mosques, smell tagines cooking from neighboring houses, and feel genuinely connected to the rhythm of medina life. For a four-star place, it punches above its weight in terms of experience, even if it’s not dripping with luxury amenities. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want – a real taste of Marrakech with enough comfort to actually enjoy it.

Marrakech tour – Danilo from Switzerland – 13 April 2025 (1/10)
The only positive is the location! The structure is falling apart we had a flood of water from the terrace to the ground floor wet suitcases, dangerous stairs because of the water that was going down in rivers .. too bad we can't insert videos otherwise I'll be shocked. The owner came to clean but all this is useless the water comes in through the door and finistes that do not have insulation especially from the roof! The rooms more or less but the roof and practically without insolation! I accepted the apology but I didn't have a chance to sleep because of the water coming in for the second time!
– Mirco_s from Germany – 7 April 2025 (8/10)
Good – Anna from Poland – 6 April 2025 (7/10)
Parter: łazienka i salon( bez okna) 1 piętro : kuchnia i sypialnia (bez okna). 2 piętro: 2 sypianie (jedna z oknem, druga bez) 3 piętro: sypiania i taras
Anfitrión excelente – Paola from Spain – 28 March 2025 (9/10)
– Julie from Spain – 4 March 2025 (7/10)
Perfect stay in Marakkech – Gosia91 from Portugal – 19 February 2024 (10/10)
Very nice hotel, with a lot of space and tarrace. The owners helped us with transport and let us left our bags in the hotel before the flight. Bathroom has warm water, kitchen is equipped. 10 min walking from the very center. All super nice.
Very good – Ulrich from Germany – 20 April 2023 (8/10)
really into the heart of Marrakech, quiet neighbourhood. You can only reach it walking (100m from road, 24/7 parking near by.).
We only spent one night in Marrakech and the riad was just what we looked for. 4 separate bed rooms. wifi works well. just one bathroom (a bit smelly from a sink, couldn't find out which one) and a separate sink. Shower nicely hot. kitchen seems equipped well but we didn't use it. little rooftop terrace that we didn't use as we walked (approx 15 mins) to Jemaa el Fna square.
What could be improved: smelly sink in bathroom but didn't bother us.
