Riad Nouceiba Marrakech Overview

You know what hit me first about Riad Nouceiba? The silence. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of the Kasbah – like, thirteen steps from Derb ben Zina where the donkey carts still clatter by in the morning – but once you slip through that heavy wooden door, it’s like the city just… stops. The courtyard has this incredible fountain that does that perfect water-trickling thing without being annoying, and honestly, after walking those narrow stone streets for twenty minutes trying to find the place (GPS is useless here, just so you know), that sound was pure magic.

The thing about staying in the Kasbah versus the main medina is that you’re getting the real deal without the tourist circus. This riad feels like someone’s actual home – because it basically is. The owner, Noureddine, actually lives on the property, and he’s one of those hosts who somehow knows exactly when you need directions and when you just want to be left alone with your mint tea. The rooms are proper traditional style with those gorgeous tadelakt walls that feel smooth as silk, but they’ve got modern bathrooms that actually work (trust me, this matters more than you think in Marrakech). My room had this tiny window that looked out onto the courtyard, and I’d wake up to the call to prayer echoing off the ancient walls – sounds touristy when I describe it, but it’s honestly quite moving.

What really sets this place apart is the location knowledge you get. The Saadian Tombs are basically around the corner, and Noureddine will tell you the best time to visit is right when they open at 9 AM before the tour groups arrive. He also knows this little spice shop on Rue de la Kasbah where the guy will actually explain what you’re buying instead of just trying to sell you saffron that’s probably turmeric. The riad serves breakfast on the rooftop terrace, and while you’re eating your msemen and fresh orange juice, you can see the Atlas Mountains on clear days – which, let’s be honest, is pretty spectacular. The only downside? Well, it’s not really a downside if you’re into authenticity, but the streets around here go completely quiet after 9 PM. No late-night medina wandering from this spot, but that also means you’ll actually sleep, which is something I definitely couldn’t say about places closer to Jemaa el-Fna. At 9.5 rating, this place has earned every point – it’s that rare find where the hospitality feels genuine, the atmosphere is magical without being contrived, and you leave feeling like you’ve experienced something real instead of just Instagram-worthy.

Reviews of Riad Nouceiba Marrakech

  • Wonderful stay- highly recommend – Paul from Australia – 5 July 2025 (10/10)

We loved absolutely everything about this property but mostly the beautiful staff who were so friendly morning day and evening. The breakfast was beautiful and they were able to cater to my allergy requirements. The location was excellent in the Medina and walking distance to almost everywhere or cheap taxi rides. The rooftop and pool were a lovely oasis from the heat.

  • Clean, beautiful, air con! – Leah from United Kingdom – 3 July 2025 (10/10)

Wonderful hospitality, clean and beautiful! The air con was amazing in the heatwave, as was the plunge pool on the roof terrace! Wouldn't hesitate to book again!

  • Exceptional – Maria from Poland – 24 June 2025 (10/10)

Very helpful and kind personnel. The rooms and bathrooms were super clean. The whole riad looks really nice. Area of the riad is very calm and safe. As 2 girls we had no stress walking back to the riad at night. It's still very close to the main square. Breakfast was great too!

What could be improved: No complaints 👌

  • Exceptional – Alexander from United Kingdom – 23 June 2025 (10/10)

Lovely little spot that's a short taxi from the airport, staff were amazing, food was delicious and they even sorted a transfer to the airport for us. Would definitely recommend.

  • We've found our new Marrakech home! – Luke from United Kingdom – 19 June 2025 (10/10)

It was an absolutely amazing experience. The staff went above and beyond for us. The breakfast was perfectly balanced, featuring a delightful selection of breads, jams, yoghurt, and more. The riad itself was stunning. The rooftop area, complete with a pool, was incredibly convenient in the heat. The location was ideal for us—situated away from the chaos of the centre yet only a 10-15 minute walk to it.

What could be improved: The only thing I noticed is they had an iron but not an ironing board, but it's nothing really.

  • Amazing experience! – Popielarski from Poland – 10 June 2025 (10/10)

Everything was great, we felt very welcomed. Hosts were always taking care of us, we had super comfortable beds, delicious breakfasts and every day perfectly cleaned room.

What could be improved: Prices of trips organized by Riad are high comparing to prices available on dedicated portals. However it doesn’t affect the general impression. I can recommend this place with pure conscience

  • Beautiful Riad with amazing roof terrace in a fantastic location – Sharon from Portugal – 21 May 2025 (10/10)

Beautiful Riad in a really good location, stones through away from the busy market area and a short hop to Tinsmiths square which is a lovely area for restaurants and bars.

Staff were amazing and very hardworking.

The rooftop majlis was the highlight for us, hubby wasn’t feeling 100% for a couple of days and the rooftop was the perfect place to sit and relax for a few hours.

What could be improved: We got allocated the blue double room and it was very very narrow, only just enough width for the bed and small cabinets which made getting in and out of bed a little challenging, the rest of the room was spacious though. If I were to stay again I would definitely book further in advance and get a more spacious room. Also the shower was a fixed rainfall with the controls behind the flow of water which made setting the temperature a challenge for a short person like myself.

  • Exceptional – Shivacharan from United Kingdom – 24 April 2025 (10/10)

    Great value for money

What could be improved: Nothing much

  • Exceptional – Adele from France – 14 April 2025 (10/10)

We were warmly welcomed by the staff throughout our stay. The indoor pavilion inside the riad is gorgeous, peaceful and beautifully designed. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and well maintained.

The location is great. We walked to most places or took short taxi rides at reasonable prices (for example, €8 for what would have been a 40-minute walk but you could probably get it cheaper if you negotiate!).

We enjoyed the free breakfast on the rooftop each morning and also made good use of the small pool on one of the hot days.

The taxi service to and from the airport was convenient and reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

  • Friendly, clean and good location. – Eli from Belgium – 13 April 2025 (10/10)

Beautiful room and common area. Close to the center and still very quiet at night. The breakfast was the best we had in Morocco so far.
